Pros: This drive replaced a 320gb WD Scorpio BLACK on my laptop storage drive.
Cons: As nearly everyone else has mentioned... the speed on this is very slow.
Other Thoughts: While I would knock off an egg or two because of the drive's performance (currently transferring another drives contents, to this drive, but only at 24-30 mb per second; even my 7200rpm USB2.0 drives doing the same tasks are faster, transfer speeds from the WB Scorpio Black to the OS Drive (raid0 intelx25s) had burst speeds of 200MB/s and tapered off at 60mb/s+. I needed storage, 1Tb should hold for some time.
Specs: Sager Laptop NP9280; I7-960 w/ 12gb RAM.
OS Drive: Intel x-25 raid0.
Storage Drive (320gb WD Scorpio Black) (replaced it with this drive).
This review is from: HighPoint RocketRAID 2320 PCI-Express x4 SATA II (3.0Gb/s) RAID Controller Card
Pros: works only on HDDs
Cons: Does not work with Optical media
Other Thoughts: From Highpoints tech support:
"Our product can not support optical drive and it can only support HHD and SSD.
We don't provide phone support currently. Sorry for that.
If you want to RMA the card,we will reassign the issue to RMA department.
Have a nice day!

This review is from: Rosewill RC-209-EX PCI 2.3, 32bit, 33/66Mhz SATA Controller Card
Pros: Supports HDDs and DVDs. I needed this as I ran out of SATA ports on my motherboard. Runs fine on W7 x64 and WinXP, and Server 2008. Looking for 4 more additional SATA ports, this is it.
Cons: Drivers/Support, like most of the things these days, support is sucking more and more
Other Thoughts: support stinks. If you're looking to add some CD/DVD drives (and HDDs) as youve ran out of motherboard SATA ports, this is the way to go; cheap and it works, but only 4 ports. I selected ROCKETRAID2320 for another project and it doesnt work with optical drives, but runs HDDs all day... wouldve been nice to know that.READ FULL REVIEW
