Pros: works most of the time between random crashes
Cons: I've had random crashes from day one.
Other Thoughts: G.Skill does not provide documentation on the required timing. Only "documentation" is what is written on the stick itself and that is the 9-9-9-28 timing. No idea what to use for the other 20 or so settings. Motherboard reports stick as 1333mhz not 1600.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: LIVA 32GB 2GB DDR3L RAM installed 32GB eMMC Storage
duel core intel processor
fanless, totally silent
even at 100% loads, the heatsink is barely warm
complete package not a barebones. has cpu, memory, storage
wifi, ethernet, hdmi
Cons: for general purpose use, it needs more memory and usb ports
antenna connectors have plastic sheath that makes connection nearly impossible.
EFI boot can be a PITA.
Other Thoughts: I used a liva as a mythtv frontend that lives in my nightstand to bedtime viewing.
I was running a decent microatx board with the lowest power cpu I could find at the time -- 39W. The fan would speed up when playing back hidef materials and the noise was annoying.
Most of my setup time was trying to find an efi compatible os install image to put on usb. (gentoo minimal didn't work; had to use their 'live dvd' version). Then spent 2 evenings fighting various bootloaders trying to find one that would handle efi. Had to rebuild the kernel to have a few more modules compiled into the main image. I can now do those steps in about 5 commands.
The final product works great. It never hiccups playing any material including hidef recordings and movies.
The wifi antenna leads are nasty. The plastic sheath gets in the way and trying to pull the plastic off will break the wire. Sour grapes -- I don't need wifi as I have wired gigabit ethernet through my place.
Linux works like a champ.
For windows, the liva X would be a better choice as that bloated mess needs 4G minimum.
Pros: ok as bluetooth headphones
Cons: no noise canceling circuitry
controls hard to identify by touch
proprietary power socket; lose the cord and you might as well toss the headphones in the trash
Other Thoughts: BEWARE! These headphones have no noise canceling circuitry at all! The are simply noise deadening like all 'round the ear headphones are.READ FULL REVIEW
