This review is from: Pioneer VSX-1022-K 7.1-Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver
Pros: This unit is a very functional 7.1 receiver with an aesthetic design. It packs many inputs, including six HDMI inputs with 3D support, coaxial and optical digital audio inputs, component and composite video, RCA analog audio, as well as an FM/AM tuner. Outputs are limited to HDMI and composite video.
Sound quality is good to my ears, but I'm not using high quality speakers (Polk Audio RM510 5.1 speaker system). Unless you have expensive speakers or a very sensitive ear, you probably won't have any problem with the sound from this unit.
The VSX-1022 is packed with useful features such as Apple device USB support, AirPlay, DLNA, Pandora, etc.
Cons: The remote control isn't too bad, but it is a bit cluttered. Likewise, the OSD is ugly and a tad bit unresponsive. No built-in WiFi support.
Other Thoughts: I am not an audiophile. I am a musician, and I deeply appreciate quality sound, but I don't have a trained ear. With that said, I'll start by saying that this receiver sounds great to me. You might read reviews stating that this receiver has poor sound quality, but unless you have a keen ear, or expensive speakers, chances are that you will not notice any difference. The receiver is rated to output 550W total, which is more than sufficient for my needs. The 5.1 surround sound works well to my ear.
As to value, I got this receiver together with the Polk Audio RM510 5.1 speaker system for a total of $500, which was an incredible deal (it would have normally cost $700). The Polk speakers work great with this receiver.
This is a decent entry-level receiver, with tons of awesome features. However, it does have a few surprising omissions, such as no WiFi. I would recommend this model, but only if you can get a good price. Otherwise, you're better off looking for the newer Pioneer models, or even from another brand.
This review is from: CORSAIR Flash Voyager 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYA32GB
Pros: Great USB 2.0 flash drive! It's fast and reliable, and I've never had a single problem with it.
Cons: The flash drive is a bit to large for tight spaces. My computer case has two USB ports on the front that are rather close together, and this flash drive doesn't fit next to my USB wireless adapter when it's plugged in. Also, the large size of the flash drive makes it hard to plug in the back of the case.READ FULL REVIEW
