Pros: The computer booted...
Cons: This computer was in nasty condition: sticky, food/dust/grime in the keyboard, scuff marks, dirty. It doesn't even look like they ran an air compressor over it. Worst conditioned refurb I have ever bought.
It was supposed to come with 2GB RAM, but only had 512MB -- this was barely enough to boot Win7.
Other Thoughts: I will avoid this refurbisher going forward.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Rosewill NEC 4+1 Port USB2.0 PCI CARD Model RC-101
Pros: Installed easily enough to add USB 2.0 support to an older desktop. Windows XP found it right away.
Cons: I had to remove the case to install the card? No cons so far.
Other Thoughts: The "internal" port is unused in this setup.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: HP Desktop PC DC5850 Athlon 64 X2 2.3 GHz 4GB 750 GB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium
Pros: Win 7 HP, 4GB RAM, 750GB
Cons: 32-bit OS, standard DVD drive
Other Thoughts: Know what you are getting before buying...
The first thing I did was blow away Win7 HP 32-bit and replaced it with Win7 HP 64-bit -- no special drivers were necessary (but I did download and install them anyway).
I also swapped the DVD drive for a DVD burner.
Note this is SFF, so I am not sure about the availability or price for a bigger power supply or graphics card to play games. This isn't for games at all, so I am not worried.
Overall a good system for the money. "Upgrading" the OS and DVD drive make it a great box.
