great nas
Pros: low power consumption. 2 Sata ports. only 1 fan
Cons: - seems that audio card is somewhat phishy - can't make it work in server 2008. guess i'll go back to 2003 - only supports CF type 1 and 2 - not a huge con but cf type 2 IMHO slow for windows OS.
Overall Review: specs on the web does not list mini pci express. only thing i found that can be installed in it is wifi card (which is not that bad).
buyers beware
Pros: Read speed on the other hand is somewhat good - avg 17 meg/s.
Cons: The write speed is slow - average of 4MB/s (on FAT32 it is 4 meg/s, on NTFS it is between 4 and 6 meg/s). There is a review somewhere on the web that list this drive at 12 meg/s for WRITE speeds - it's not so.
Overall Review: if i knew write speed was so slow i wouldn't buy it.
garbage
Pros: Does perform at advertised speed. When formatted ntfs ASSSD benchmark shows 215MB Read and 38~41 MB Write.
Cons: Retractable connector is really flimsy. Most of Dell 2.0 and 3.0 slots pop the connector so it is not fully in. After several failed insertions I've glued the connector in extended position - it works now, but heats up really fast. After it is hot to touch it no longer works.
Overall Review: I have a different design (older) SP 32GB usb 3 stick and it works. I should've stayed away from retractable design (and so should you).
should have baught something else
Pros: It works
Cons: Build quality is meh - one of the sides of the PSU case is sticking out a good 4 mm out of the rest of the box. Fan is LOUD. It's not grinding yet but it's this pretty loud hiss (not high pitched, but still). Perhaps it could be a plus but the system only has 4 hdd's and i5. Not even a dedicated vgs.
Overall Review: Hope it wouldn't fail any times soon. Even for $65 there are better PSU.
Good intentions, bad execution
Pros: 1. Roomy 2. Handle on top 3. CPU-ATX power connector extension
Cons: 1. No dust filters for either optional side fans nor for the HDD cages (when defaul orientation is used). 2. HDD Cage is too small - if you put 4 HDDs in one cage, at best you'll have 2mm space between them. If you want to cool them you can only put 2 of them per cage. Also if you have SATA cables with bent at 90 degree connectors you cannot put HDDs side by side. 3. When bottom HDD cage is mounted perpendicular to the mobo, there is not enough space for bent sata connector if you wish to use bottom slot - the housing of the utility box is in the way. 4. There are no threads for the mobo stands - had to use socket wrench to put them in. 5. Dust fileter on top - it is flimsy and useless. 6. Had to bent back side of the case so I can secure VGA and audio card - without bending back side, cards are pulled out of the slot. 7. SSD cage is in a bad spot - you will have cords from your power supply in there. Good thing i had modular one. I mean it would be Ok if this case was sub $70 but it is not Ok for $150 case. If i knew what i know now i wouldn't get this case again.
Solid case but there are better
Pros: 3.5" cage(s) with FANs with fan controller all steel construction - sturdy case
Cons: too many screws - i do like to secure my devices in places with screws but....to remove an HDD cage you have to undo 8 screws. front panels for 5.25" drives are secured by screws(!) - have to remove 2 tiny screws that can and will fell down the case (unless you have magnetized scre driver). THIS case IS small! - Comparing to CM Staker 830 - put 2 gtx 285s in it and they're almost touching hdds in botom cage. FANs are not m/b controlled - it'll be nice to have at least 1 fan as system fan, controlled by m/b. NO 2.5" to 3.5" adapter is included and no built in space for SDD. Topmost rear fan seems unneeded - with built in speed and light controller will be a hassle to remove.
Overall Review: 3 eggs becasuse it is not bad of case however there are better alternatives out there, though they'll cost more.
