Pros: you tell me!!! cranks my games at 2560x1600 (im running sli)... there hasn't been a single game i can't max out and still bust 60fps
Cons: most people will say cost, i won't... lets say you bought a super clocked card and bought an ek water block, backplate, fittings, thermal pads, etc, you are already near the cost of one of these cards... plus this thing is oc'd out of the box a great deal more than the rest of the cards on the market... i don't mind paying the premium to not be hassled with the work involved with removing the factory air heatsink and installing a water block... this thing is warrantied just the way it is... if something goes wrong, you throw it back in the box and call it a day...
Other Thoughts: this price point is nice for us lazy people out there.... :DREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: super fast... cold boot time from power button to windows services being loaded at desktop is around 20 seconds... read speeds AFTER loading windows, updates, games, apps, etc while hosting an OS is about 580 and write is about 450 with a 64k block config on the stripe... results above were run with crystalmark... i will test again in about 6 months to see how much degradation has taken place....
Cons: blue led's are bright.. its ruining the res theme in my case... :D
sometimes during shutdown, the PCI lanes power off before the OS is done "shutting down" and writing everything to disk... when i power back up, i have to sit through a chkdsk (though for less than minute) upon start up... this has only happened about 3 times since i bought the card a month ago... rather annoying and data corruption is a potential threat.... not the drives fault, im blaming asus... they need a bios fix for this... however, since the drive hasn't hit large yet and the focus of asus has shifted to sandy bridge platforms, i doubt they will do anything about this...
Other Thoughts: rampage 3 extreme / 980x / 2x gtx 580 sli / 3x2gb mushkin ridgelines / asus xonar xense / ocz revodrive x2 360 / Win7 x64READ FULL REVIEW
