Crucial 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4-17000) Desktop Memory Model CT8G4DFD8213
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: I bought two of these than added one more doing memtest and it works. I had to gradualy increase the speed from 1600 ,1800 so forth to 2133 which it now runs at. matched sets are better they say but this is working.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is July 2015 and DDR4 is very inexpensive, buy your rig now because maybe next year who knows?

ASRock X99M Extreme4 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: You really can't break this thing because it runs CPU speed fluxtuating up and down but keeps up well with internet and works on demand. Runs 10-13 degrees cooler than a DDR3 and feel good and quick enough. Intel burn test gives 135-140 grops (cpu 5820K0 where DDR gave only 1-5-110 on 4820K. definatly use crucial 8gb double sided ram, I did not care for the 4 x 4gb=16 single sided setup.

Cons: Does run stable, don't ask it too but you can coax it up into the 3.0GHz plus range with bios settings.

Other Thoughts: They really should come right out and tell you this board is not a stability based motherboard, and that the choke is meant for the purpose of varying the cpu speed safely as it does.

Sunpentown SR-964TB Induction Cooktop

5 out of 5 eggs Works ok 04/26/2015

This review is from: Sunpentown SR-964TB Induction Cooktop

Pros: Cheaper in price. The lower wattage of 1300 is ok compared to the 1500 watt models.

Cons: I did not have an official magnetic induction pot and was mashing grain for beer with a big stainless non magnetic many gallon pot using a 2" x 6" piece of RA2205 nickel steel that is magnetic in the pot to warm the mash. I could not depend on the tempertue setting which went from 140 then 160 and I wanted 150. I set at 120, then set to 160 till till the mash reached 150F then turn back to 120 so I would not burn the mash as I thought 140 would add heat too many times. mashing is work but it really is not the fault of this stovetop and was easier than a conventional electric range top.

Other Thoughts: I would like to try a real induction pot but for mashing I know steady temps matter and for food it does not.
