Pros: Price, decided to take a chance on these despite the bad reviews. Glad I did cause they're working fine in my NAS unit.
Other Thoughts: Bought two to install in my new NAS. NAS serves as a backup for my main file/media server. They work as expected, 4tb x 2 in a raid 0 config.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Price, it's EVGA so I know it's a quality product that will last.
Single slot design. Liked it so much that I came back and bought another one for a spare.
Other Thoughts: Bought to replace an old evga 8800GT that finally died. Only games I play are older titles such as UT, UT 2004, Quake 3,etc so this card fits my needs perfectly. Paired with my old Phenom II X4 955 cpu w/4gb ram. I doubt the games in question really make this card work hard at all, lol.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SYBA SY-PCI40010 PCI SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) RAID Controller Card
Pros: Price, number of ports, SATA2, PCI interface, supports RAID 10 which is nice and not something you often see on cards of this price.
Cons: RAID-5 performance (but this applies to all consumer boards) is terrible. File copy speed is 10mb sec. When Raid-1 or anything but raid-5 speed is 30-40 mb sec at minimum.
Chipset on motherboard gave same results so this isn't a fault of the board, rather limitation of consumer hardware.
Other Thoughts: The hardware limit of creating a 2.3TB array is wrong. I created a 4TB raid-5 and Raid-10 array with zero problems. I used the GPT partition scheme under Windows server 03.READ FULL REVIEW
