2 out of 5 eggs Poor Laser Accuracy 11/13/2013

This review is from: XTRAC PADS RIPPER XL Optical Mouse pad

Pros: Big, comfortable, no stupid pictures

Cons: Poor accuracy on my Logitech M500 wired laser mouse (using on my bare wood desk works better), edges curl up with friction from wrist, stains easily

4 out of 5 eggs Great, But Not Perfect 02/17/2011

This review is from: Logitech K800 Black USB RF Wireless Slim Illuminated Keyboard

Pros: -Quiet keys with consistent feel
-Wireless reciever range is excellent, it'll work from the next room over with the door closed; also there's no need for the USB desk mount, I just plugged it into the back of my PC on the floor
-Gaps between the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys are nice
-Sleek, modern design
-The key layout isn't messed up
-Proximity auto-lighting feels intuitive and is usually quite responsive
-Keys are very readable with lighting off
-The FN + F4 key zooms out on all the windows so you can see what's open, useful
-Calculator is more useful than expected, though it makes me wish there was a 'clear' key for use with the calculator now
-Volume buttons are also useful
-light inside the caps lock key is useful, but something similar for Num Lock would be nice

Cons: -Not rigid enough, it exibits small, but noticeable flex
-USB cable does not transfer data (a concern for gamers in search of perfect response)
-Non-square keys could be quieter
-Battery light is on when plugged in even if the keyboard is off (I put electrical tape over it)
-Using FN + Battery key does not give an on-screen indicator
-Light level difference between 2 and 3 is large, I've found myself wanting something in between
-High contrast white lighted letters on black keys are a bit hard to focus on (this has to do with how the eye works)
-A gap between the Enter and " key would be nice
-Slightly sharper edges to the keys would help touch-typists, and the convex rounding on some of the keys doesn't help
-Off/On switch could be a bit easier to operate
-Shiny black trim smudges easily
-The symbols are on the keys are too close vertically; the colon and semicolon are very close, and & and 7 are about 0.25mm from each other, while the $ and 4 is seriosuly less than 0.10mm

Other Thoughts: -I haven't put the battery life to the test, I leave it plugged in often.

4 out of 5 eggs Unexpectedly Impressed 02/17/2011

This review is from: Logitech M500 Tilt Wheel USB Corded Laser 1000 dpi Mouse

Pros: -Free-wheel scrolling is astonishing, I cannot imagine living without it, and I can't imagine it feeling better (it takes some getting used to but it's worth it)
-Rubber on both sides (and on the scroll wheel) feels great
-Accurate tracking
-Good shape
-Good weight
-Free-wheel scrolling more-or-less changed my life

Cons: -Middle click button is too short and takes too much force
-Click scrolling is slightly loose and a bit too light
-Forward button is difficult to reach
-Scroll mode selection button feels like you're going to break it, not a positive feeling
-Back and forward buttons are slightly bulky considering the rest of the mouse's sleek design
-Side scrolling clicks, and even the primary and secondary (alternate) clicks feel slightly unimpressive, there could be a more positive feel

Other Thoughts: -Yes that's a lot of cons for a 4 egg review, but for the price it's great (and the free-wheel is amazing); also all cons but the first are not really bothersome
-I'm 5'8" with average (or slightly smaller than average) hands that are a bit thin (I'm a lightweight)
