Pros: Windows 7!
GTX765m, i7, 12GB RAM, gorgeous 1920x1080 display
Thin and light and solid
AC adapter also thin and light
Double fan cooling solution works beautifully
Cons: None, unless you or your significant other truly despises the extremely yellow lid (make no mistake it's reaaaaaally yellow). Twenty bucks for a laptop skin in whatever flavor you like and problem solved.
Other Thoughts: Previous laptop gaming rig was an MSI GT660R with a GTX285m and 1366x768 display. This Gigabyte P25k does (as it should in comparison to a 3-year old laptop) outclass my last one in every way, by a hefty margin. Great price from newegg, great performance, just love it. Using MSI Afterburner to display fps the P25K-CF2 does:
40-60fps in Borderlands 2 at 1920x1080 with PhysX low and EVERY other setting maxed out.
25-45fps in Borderlands 2 at 1920x1080 with PhysX medium or high, every other setting maxed (or even low)
45-65fps in Splinter Cell: Blacklist at 1920x1080 with every setting as high as it'll go
45-65fps in Ghost Recon:Future Soldier at 1920x1080 with every setting maxed out
The GPU temp has never exceeded 65C even after literally hours of gaming at the highest settings on these games, and the palm rest area has never even gotten warm to the touch, those two cooling fans work perfectly.
Pros: MSI struck the perfect balance with the GT660 between price and performance, I could not be happier with mine. Audio is fantastic, hard to believe it's coming from a laptop. Using MSI Afterburner to see GPU temp and FPS, at the native resolution 1366x768 and ALL settings on high, 4x AA, MSAO "on" with BFBC2 (forced DX9), I get:
Battlefield Bad Company 2: 60-70fps
Call of Duty Black Ops: 60fps steady
...all at 70-74 degrees C, fans maxed and using a Targus laptop cooler. Zero artifacts or lags or hitches. It's perfect for what I want it for.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Other Thoughts: Until I can afford a GT680 (1920x1080, Sandy Bridge and GTX 460 mmm), this laptop gets the job done even better than I thought it would, simply put it is an awesome gaming laptop. Way to go MSI and thank you newegg!!!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Price & performance; runs WoW on ultra settings silky smooth and the LCD is gorgeous. Great warranty too (haven't used it just sayin') and everything works great out of the box.
Cons: Uhh...doesn't have a built-in pizza oven and beer tap???
Other Thoughts: Bought for my son for college/gaming, tough choice between this one and ASUS N70, sacrificed processor & FSB speed for a better video card and I'm not disappointed in the least, it rips.READ FULL REVIEW
