This review is from: Polk Audio PSW Series PSW505 12" Powered Subwoofer Single
Pros: This little 12" sub replaced a 15" AudioSource from Costco 15 years ago. Why? mostly because I've been slowly replacing all the speakers of the home theater system with polk products after I was so impressed with the first set of towers. The sub was the last remaining speaker and I've been thinking about it for a year. Then newegg threw it on sale for an unbelievable $149. I was hooked.
It showed up on my doorstep in a pristine box - unmolested by abusive handlers. I open it up - guess what, the grill was broken. All these reviews, year after year of broken grills. Wow. The lack of effort to address the problem is stunning. The packaging engineer should be fired. Maybe he already is - and they can't afford a new one....
So I call Polk. No flack, just the serial # and a new one is in the mail. Showed up in three days. No egg lost. But for goodness sake man - fix the packaging!
How does it work: The old sub was boomy with a much higher efficiency at 50 hz than the rest of the sprectum. The polk has a much deeper range and volume - even with it's smaller package size. There are still volume fluctuations as you listen to the testing videos on you tube - but that could also be the human sensitivity as well. The bass is deep and powerful. It's easy to install - just plug to the wall and one to the amp. It really does work well...there's a reason for all these positive reviews.
Cons: Broken grill.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Quiet. No fan. works as described and supports HDMI. The price after rebate is ridiculously low. I'm not looking for a top of the line gaming card here. This was purchased to support an HDMI output. I'm not asking alot - but it does work just fine.
Cons: The heat sink it tall. That helps with cooling (obviously) but it will impact your ability to use the slot above the card.
Other Thoughts: Price independent - it's fine. Price dependent - spectacular.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Polaroid i835 Blue 8.0 MP 3X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
Pros: Cheap. Works. Picture quality is fair. Works poorly in low light. Not nearly as good picture quality as my Canon A 590 (which is several years old)
The LCD on the back is HUGE. Nice for viewing the photos.
Did I mention cheap? ~$45 is a smokin deal.
Cons: As a refurb unit, I knew I was going to be the second owner. But it still had the previous owner's name scrawled on the side in permanent ink!!?!? Wow. I've never seen a refurb unit so - well - used. Is what it is.READ FULL REVIEW
