This review is from: Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System
Pros: *$24.99 and free shipping
*Does not require upgraded sound card, just plug in green jack and it's ready (although for maximum performance you should upgrade sound card)
*Full frequency response - Music sounds very rich and movies sound fantastic.
*Subwoofer is very small and compact, not what you would expect by looking at the picture. Easy to find enough room to place it.
*Very sleek and elegant design.
Other Thoughts: Although the satellites are great, I decided to replace them with my other speakers (N82E16836121002). With this addition, the music sounds phenomenal.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: *Got what I paid for
*Very quiet and stays cool. The only sounds audible includes the clicking of the hard drive and a fan.
*Fantastic keyboard that feels great to the touch.
*Windows 7 Home Premium (see other thoughts)
*Very small and lightweight. No strain when I lift it over the side of the bed.
Cons: *The hard drive was divided into three partitions. I'm not sure why Asus does this. Caused a minor inconvenience, but doesn't affect me now. (see other thoughts)
*Nothing else worth noting
Other Thoughts: *This 5 egg review indicates that I got exactly what I paid for and am very satisfied, not because it has exceptional specs.
*Windows 7 Home Premium seemed to be a little to heavy for this small netbook. The netbook showed signs of struggling when under the use of Windows 7. Because of this, I decided to switch it to Ubuntu (12.04 at the time of rating). Ubuntu is a fantastic, low resource operating system and it is a great choice for netbooks. After the Ubuntu installation, this netbook is really able to shine. It is much more responsive and snappy. Also, by installing the new OS, the hard drive is no longer divided into the partitions, as it was formatted upon installation.
