Pros: Value ($/GB), 3-year warranty, firmware that isn't braindamaged, and among the poor choices available today, it's the least terrible for me.
Cons: Ordered eight so far. Seven doing well, one was DOA (10,000 bad sectors and counting). +1 Newegg for replacing it in a single day.
I'm also annoyed that this is just a WD green with a new label and a tiny firmware tweak.
Other Thoughts: Very disappointed that all the hdd manufacturers got rid of their reasonable-length and reasonably-priced warranties all at the same time. Ah, for the good old days when a hdd at this price level would come with a *five* year warranty. Now they're mostly 1-year, and you have to pay extra for a model like this with just three.
Thankfully, we can rest assured that none of them are in collusion and it's just a coincidence.
