Pros: High capacity, low price.
Cons: Worked great for the 14 months that it worked, but started getting a bunch of SMART errors and before I could get a replacement, it flat-out died taking with it about 1.5TB of my data. Luckily I had semi-recent backups but this is a huge pain. Seagate replaced under warranty, but it's still a big pain to lose a drive.
My employer bought these drives for a while and over 50% of them have gone bad in less than a year. Stay clear of these unless you're running RAID and can tolerate drive failure.
Other Thoughts: Stay clear of these unless you're running RAID and can tolerate drive failure.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: MSI G41TM-E43 LGA 775 Intel G41 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: HDMI is nice, but it doesn't hook up well to my 50" Sony TV - seems like it doesn't like widescreen but maybe that's my problem.
Cons: The onboard network port went out after about a year, had to get an NIC. I've also had one of the 4 USB ports go out.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Canon PowerShot SD780 IS Silver 12.1 MP 3X Optical Zoom HD Movie Digital Camera
Pros: This camera is great! This is the first Canon I've owned - prior to this, I've owned two Sony camera (3.2MP and 7.1MP, both cutting edge at their time) and a Kodak (12MP). The best things about this camera for me are:
* Super-fast start-up time (~ 1 second) with a 4G or 8G SDHC card
* Super-compact (fits in my jeans pocket)
* HD videos (720, that is). This is way better for videos of my kids than a dedicated camcorder.
* Vivid colors in photos
* 3-shot face timer is great for group photos
* Good macro shots
Cons: Well, who wouldn't want a higher resolution if one were available, despite the fact that I never make prints of my photos. :)
Other Thoughts: I definitely recommend this camera. I got one and then two months later bought one for my brother as a wedding gift.READ FULL REVIEW
