AMD Quality!
Pros: Price is good. Dual core, comes with a quiet fan/heatsink that cools adequately.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Works flawlessly with my Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 motherboard, Corsair XMS2 memory, Gigabyte 7300GT video card, and Hitachi hard drive.
Poor Quality
Pros: None - I couldn't get it to work more than a few minutes at a time.
Cons: SATA power connector didn't work. I used the four-pin IDE power connector instead. This connector is not keyed properly allowing easy upside-down insertion of the power connector. USB connector is loose and doesn't make a contact good enough for the device to be usable.
Very nice case.
Pros: Clean sleek look. Plenty of room. Quick-release latches for hard drives. Front and rear 120mm fans that are quiet. Fans appear to do a good job keeping temperatures down. Comes with a 350W or 400W power supply (mine came with a 400W). Ports on the front.
Cons: I don't care for quick-release latches for PCI cards. I would rather secure them with screws. Although temperature management isn't a problem with this case, I think wire grills should be used where fans mount to case to increase airflow. Front USB/Firewire ports would be easier to use if they were in the middle or at the top of the case.
Overall Review: Comes in silver and black. I bought the black version. A clean, sleek, black case was exactly what I was looking for. Most black cases overdo the designer look, which I don't care for.
One of the best wireless PCI adapters available.
Pros: Quick and easy setup and installation. Windows detected and installed drivers automatically. Excellent sensitivity. I can see networks in the neighbourhood that I can't see with other network cards.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I'm do a variety of PC/IT work as a trade. This wireless card is my first choice for installation in client's computers. I also use several of them at home. Never a problem when using the drivers in WinXP. I haven't used the drives on the CDROM that comes with the card, so I can't comment the difficulties others mentioned with Gigabyte's drivers.
Excellent motherboard.
Pros: Trouble-free installation. Stable. Plenty of SATA and USB connectors. On-board audio is fairly good. Component layout is the best I've seen on any of the recent motherboards.
Cons: Only two PCI slots and only one IDE connector.
Overall Review: For the price, performance, and available features, this is probably one of the best AM2 motherboards currently available. If you decide to buy this motherboard, be sure and buy an X2 processor and two sticks of memory to take advantage of the dual-core processor and dual-channel memory features.
