This review is from: Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 140mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan, option Fans-2x Side 120mm Fan
Pros: For the money I don't think you can do better. The case has decent cable management options, several drive bays, fits longer video cards (3 fan 660ti), has three fans that are quiet and move a lot of air, decent cosmetics and fairly solid build quality. There isn't a wow factor to the case but everything comes together well. By the time I was done with assembly I was pretty impressed. It comes with a nice 2.5 drive cage nicely holds an ssd.
Cons: The packaging could be better. The first case I ordered came damaged from shipping. The second case was hit in the same place during shipping but failed to hurt the case. There needs to be more foam around the front bezel area or cardboard stiffeners along the box edging to protect the plastic fascia.
I don't think you could mount a radiator in the top of the case. No usb 3.0 support. Compared to higher end cases the metal is thinner but for the price it is great. No wow factor. The bottom drive cage could be removable to utilize that area for a water pump or REALLY long vid cards. All of these are really minor nit picks. The case is really good.
Other Thoughts: This will probably be my base atx case for other builds. When you look at the quality of the case and the invoice your happy. The lack of 3.0 USB support might push others elsewhere.
Newegg handled the RMA for the damaged case quickly and easily.
Pros: It looks good and is fairly small. It has room for a fairly wide and would accept a fairly tall cpu heat sink. Standard pci cards fit nicely in the case due to the width.
Cons: It is pretty cheap feeling. You can not remove a hard drive after all the hardware is in place. The standard cpu heat sink won't let the 3.5" hdd clear without bending the tabs, that give the drive separation from each other. The clips that hold the 5.25 and 3.5" devices work but aren't very secure. You can hear buzzing coming from those devices (DVD drive) when they are spinning at full speed. I put screws in those pieces to hold them securely. The fans aren't quiet and don't move much air. I replaced them with 120mm low rpm high volume fans.
Other Thoughts: I am using this case for my first HTPC build. This is a trial run before mounting all the components into a nicer case for the end use. I chose the case for the aesthetics knowing that it will be reused as a desktop case in the future. It will work ok for someone but you can do better for the money. If this was $20 it would be a bargain.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SilverStone SST-RL01B-USB 3.0 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros: Good looking, fairly solid construction, multiple hard drive bays with easy mounting. Top radiator grill area. The led fans aren't too bright. The top vent looks like there is enough room for an H100 radiator. I will find out soon. Seems to have decent airflow. I fit a Noctua NH-U12P heatsink in the case with a little room to spare. The case is a nice size. The top grill cover adds character and reduces noise.
Cons: Cable routing isn't outstanding but it works. The top cover, with the fan mounts and holes is a little bit flimsy. It moves easily but shouldn't be an issue after you mount the fans. The power on button is fairly bright and cheap looking especially when the system is off.
Other Thoughts: For the money you won't be disappointed. I mounted a few more red led fans on the top grill and the case looks pretty good. It is a little light when you talk about construction but compare that to the cost and this is a pretty good deal. Check you motherboard for a USB3 20 pin header. I wish Silverstone included an adapter and added a few bucks to the cost.READ FULL REVIEW
