Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54690K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600

Pros: After basically being forced to upgrade, I was in a dilemma of either waiting a week for skylake or going with the Devil's Canyon. Being as I was able to get the EVGA Z97 Classified for $200 & this CPU & a mild discount, while keeping my still very good ram, the choice was clear. So far this chip overclocks very well, rock solid stable at 4.7Ghz with 1.28v. Though I seem to hit a wall at 4.7, as to get anything stable after that, far more voltage is required. Runs very cool compared to my past 3570k, and closer to temps of the 2500k, which gives me comfort in terms of longevity while overclocked. Performance gain over a 2500k clock for clock depending on the application is between 5-15%.

Cons: If I hadn't been forced to upgrade, real world performance is hardly if at all noticeable over an overclocked 2500k or 3570k.

Other Thoughts: Being as Skylake is officially out, this chip really is not worth investing in unless you're set on keeping your DDR3 & just upgrading from a lower end 1150 CPU. Though you can get some of the high end 1150 motherboards at a fraction of the cost right now! All in all though, this is an excellent processor, just wish Intel would push the envelope on performance a little more, though being as AMD cannot currently compete, they have no reason too sadly :( Until then, we get our 5-10% performance boost from generation to generation.

EVGA Z97 Classified (152-HR-E979-KR )LGA 1150 Intel Z97 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Having owned ASUS & Gigabyte boards most of my life, my expectations were always set pretty high. My last motherboard purchased was an EVGA P67 FTW which was somewhat of a let down in all honesty. Which brings me to this board! I knew exactly what I wanted for my next build, and the Z97 Classified fit the bill perfectly, at least on paper & reviews. After putting the new system together, booting into bios with UEFI which my P67 FTW lacked(my Asus Sabertooth P67 had UEFI......) I knew right away I was going to love this board. Tons of Sata connections, Love the Post Code Display which once posted, becomes a temperature monitor. Ascetically this board is beautiful! Overclocking is a breeze & nothing too it with a K series CPU. For out of the box setups or diagnostics, you have the power & reset buttons on the motherboard which I think for a top end motherboard, people have come to expect & love. Tons of PCI-E lanes for multi-gpu setups. So far board has been rock solid!

Cons: I know the Classified line has always been the black and red theme, however I hope one day they change it up. Red Post Code Display & On-Board Led's really don't go well with a blue lighted build, or green for that matter. Guess we'll call it conflict of colors. Having the green glowing "Gefore GTX" on GPU's, Intel self contained water cooler that glows blue, Blue Cold Cathodes, and the Red Led's of the Classified, it's starting to look like Christmas in my tower........I don't care much for Christmas :)

Other Thoughts: With all seriousness though, from what little time I have spent with the board, it's already becoming one of my all time favorite Motherboards. Being as Skylake & the 1151 socket at the time of purchasing was just about to be released, getting this board when all said and done for $200 was well worth it! Couldn't be more happy!

RAZER Mamba Wireless Rechargeable Gaming Mouse

3 out of 5 eggs Gave it the benefit of the doubt 04/08/2015

This review is from: RAZER Mamba Wireless Rechargeable Gaming Mouse

Pros: -Aesthetically Pleasing
-Excellent Battery Life!
-Accurate When Plugged In

Cons: -Connection drops out intermittently in wireless mode for 1-2 seconds when playing games, seems more frequent in FPS games.
-Terrible for all day gaming, when battery is about out, you must disconnect the hub, re-route cable to mouse. total joke compared to my Logitech G700. Razer needs to learn from Logitech here.

Other Thoughts: I've always been partial to Logitech mice over the years, and again this product has reminded me why. In comparison with the G700(I own 2) this is simply an inferior product in most every way. The only thing this thing has going for it, is it's stylish glowing lights, and battery life. I bought this as I had a Newegg gift card I needed to blow, and who can't use another mouse?! Regardless with the intermittent connection drop outs, this "wireless gaming mouse" is rendered useless. Nothing like playing your favorite online FPS, only to have your mouse loose connection. I'll be contacting Razer Support, and seeing if there is any fix. From the looks of all these reviews, you would think Razer would have fixed this by now with a Firmware update or such. I own many mice, including the Deathadder, G700, G500, G7, ect, ect, the list goes on, If this mouse didn't have the connection issue, and 2 cables(1 for mouse & 1 for hub) It might be my most favorite mouse. However sadly, that is not the case. For now, I would shy away!
