Cons: XFX has updated their Customer Service Website with a ton of new bugs. I have an older 4850 card that has finally given up the ghost, but has a lifetime warranty. I had to RE-REGISTER on their site because with these new bugs, they LOST their old database... Well, they wanted some number which I had never heard of before (not to mention you cannot just enter the date of purchase, you have to use their stupid calendar, which you have to go back month-by-month.) I sent them a message and they sent me the number that I needed in order to register the card. Now, I have filled out an RMA request about a week ago and haven't heard ONE SINGLE WORD about it... Until such time as they get their act together, I would suggest NO ONE buy any XFX product... BTW, the card I have had been buggy since day one...READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: AMD Phenom X4 9750 Agena Quad-Core 2.4 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W HD9750XAJ4BGH Processor
Pros: AMD, Very inexpensive, 4 cores, fast.
Other Thoughts: I have an older MB, ASUS MN2-SLI Deluxe. It has the NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP chipset, which is great, I have had it for 3 or 4 years now, no problems. I had a 1.6g Sempron in it at the time of this upgrade. I also had windows 7 PRO x64 installed. It wasn't very fast (understatement.) I got this processor and proceeded to install it. Worked great before it would boot into Windows. When it got to the login screen, it reboot itself and trashed the OS. When I would try to reinstall (from flash drive and with USB mouse and keyboard) it would bluescreen as soon as I touched the mouse or keyboard with the error "bugcode_usb_driver". I went to technet to find info after trying a billion different things, and found this knowledgebase article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972. It pertains to an issue with Windows 7 and Nvidia USB controllers. There is a hotfix for it which works fine. Put Sempron back in, reinstalled windows, applied hotfix, reinstalled this proc and works great.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Transcend JetFlash V30 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model TS4GJFV30
Pros: It is very small and it is pretty fast, although I don't have a lot of experience with flash drives, I was able to copy a dvd image of OpenSuse onto it in about 9 minutes. That's just under 4G.
Cons: Software isn't exactly great. It does what is says it will, but what is left out is a utility to make it bootable, although there is a link to a utility called mformat on their website, but I can't seem to get to the dl page. rather annoying... There is no software support for Linux although the drive does work fine as a simple flash drive.
Other Thoughts: Overall, considering the size and price, it's pretty good. The cap was very tight when I first got it, and it is a little looser now, not in danger of falling off yet, but I suspect over time it will.READ FULL REVIEW
