This review is from: Synology DS1515+ Diskless System Network Storage
Pros: This is a well thought out and solid NAS. This is an upgrade to my older Synology DS410 4 bay model, and it much faster and far more capable. Sync files and photos with your phone. Backup computers around your home/office. Share files with friends and family. Add optional software/apps from the package center. This thing can do prett much anything you want a NAS to do.
Cons: Expensive.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I know this is old product and discontinued. But I still thought it may be helpful to someone out there to give a long term review of this router.
I've had this thing since it hit the market. If you are not going to flash to DDWRT, then I strongly suggest updating to the latest firmware version. Earlier versions would I have freezing web browsing issue.
I can say with the latest firmware I have had no issues that I've encountered. Its runs Solid. As in, never having to restart it - ever. I stream and download a LOT of videos and files and it never drops, hangs, buffers, etc.
Cons: Range could be a bit better. I would rate it average at best.
No external antennas.
Other Thoughts: Can get hot. I put a pencil underneath the rear of the unit to lift it up a bit, helps give it more breathing room.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: What can I say, this case is incredible. Fan mounts everywhere that are EASY to get too. Why? Top and front easy tooless removal. You can run 8 hard drives in this thing easily, and still have a Blu-Ray and card reader. Tooless drive removal. You can face drives in ANY direction. This may not be the ceapest case out there but the quality shows. I also haev the HAF 912 case, and this is much better.
Cons: They included a 5.25 to 3.5 external drive converter, but it didn't work with the card reader I had. Not all that universal in its design.
Other Thoughts: This case makes a fantastic file server case.READ FULL REVIEW
