This review is from: SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SAT-O ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 DDR3 1600/1333/1066
Pros: standard supermicro build quality, everything works great, lots of connectors, good bios configurability
Cons: SATA ports are a challenge to connect if your case is relatively short front-to-back or has drive bays in the middle third.
Didn't come with a driver disc, and I needed to download ethernet drivers from Intel directly and transfer via USB key from another system. (Not part of Win8 install)
Pros: Using it as a ZFS fileserver running OpenIndiana oi_148 with a single Xeon X5650 CPU and 12GB RAM (3x 4GB), installation went flawlessly and all hardware was detected properly. Performance is great. Uses passive CPU heatsinks (SYS7046A-T has active heatsinks) but has a nice easy to mount shroud for airflow.
Cons: This model uses the long, narrow hot-swappable power supplies, and only comes with 1. It's quite a bit louder than the SYS7046A-T which we also have in production. If you're going to use the machine for home use, if it's not isolated into another room, you might want to consider one of their chassis with larger (quieter) power supply fans.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: JetWay JNC94-510-LF Intel Atom D510 BGA559 Intel NM10 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo
Pros: Currently being used as a pfSense router and it's working great! 36W total system draw, with both ports occupied on the E1G42ET dual 1Gbit/s ethernet adapter and 2GB of DDR2-800, built into the APEX MI-008 case and using the included power supply. Bit more power than previous router, but way faster, more reliable, and with much better logging and analysis features.
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: Very happy with the purchaseREAD FULL REVIEW
