This review is from: Mediasonic HFR2-SU3S2FW Raid 0 (Spanning) JBOD Raid 0 (Stripping) Raid 1 (Mirroring) Raid 3 (Stripped set with dedicated parity) Raid 5 (Striped set with distributed parity) Raid 10 (Mirroring + Striping) 4 3.5" Drive Bays USB 3.0 eSA
Pros: Solid construction, many connection options (Firewire 400/800, eSata, usb2.0/3.0), easy to read status indicators, price point, windows/linux compatible out of the box. Great read/write speeds without tweaking.
Cons: Extremely poor documentation. The box comes with essentially no viable setup manual and the JBOD option is not really JBOD, it is JBOD with spanning. What this means is you cannot plug your drives in and expect immediate access to your data, backup, setup the box, then copy your data back over. (should be standard to do so anyway, but its not always an option)
Other Thoughts: Overall, I would buy again. Mediasonic lost an egg for the documentation issue. Otherwise a solid buy!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Good light weight laptop, decent battery life, I like the biometric login software that comes with the machine.
Cons: Vista. I know its unavoidable at this point, but if I could have gotten this machine with XP on it I would have been much happier!
Other Thoughts: Its a good laptop, I bought it for my father, and then 2 weeks later I bought another for my cousin, they seem to love it, its fast (for a laptop) but the screen is small, its lightweight and easy to use.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Very good card for the price, i recommend buying 2 because of the price and using the SLI. I mean how can you go wrong, its 60 bucks. I run civ 4, call of duty, UT3, EVE, and forged alliance. No problem with any of these games, frame rates are all in the 60+ range.
Cons: One of the 2 original cards i bought came DOA massive memory defect, newegg RMA and send me a new one, TY NEWEGG!!!
Other Thoughts: These cards produce alot of heat but don't have the extended exhaust fan of the larger model cards, i highly recommend that you purchase your own exhaust fans cause I know the card is good, but when my box heats up i start running into issues.READ FULL REVIEW
