Works without a hitch
Pays for itself in 9 months
Cons: The diagnostics page could be formatted better
Other Thoughts: I purchased this when I upgraded my TWC service. I am subscribed to the TWC 50/5 "Ultimate" package and I'm getting 124/6 so no complaints there.
The only annoyance was dealing with TWC support for activation. I use TWC's phone service, so I kept the old TWC modem. So of course they kept activating and deactivating the wrong modem at first, but I stayed on the line until they sorted it out. Since then (just over two weeks) the modem has been up nonstop with zero errors, zero outages, etc. 16 down channels and 4 up channels all bonded, I'm amazed I can get this level of service out here in the sticks (Hudson Valley NY).
One fun fact about TWC -- if you use their modem for phone only, they won't charge you for it. So when I brought in this modem and relegated the old one to phone only use, they let me keep it but stopped charging me $10/month. Good deal.
The only possible complaint I have about this modem is that the web page is a little basic. It shows what you need to know, signal strengths etc, but the formatting on the log entries isn't great and some entries get truncated. It's a minor thing but it's the only downside I could really think of so I figured I'd mention it. The way this thing performs I wouldn't trade it over that.
Pros: Insanely fast. Runs reasonably cool for most games, it barely breaks 55C most of the time. The hottest I've managed to get it is 70C when running Unigine Valley. The fan is quiet, there's no whine or anything like that.
Performance is awesome. Out of the box with no tweaking, I get 4002 / 95.6fps on Valley at 1920x1080 with Extreme HD preset. This is on a 4930K @ 4.1ghz with 16gb RAM.
Cons: The cost, obviously. And while the fan is quiet, if it cranks up you definitely hear the air whooshing out the back of the card. But I'm using a custom fan curve on EVGA Precision that is similar to "Aggressive", I set it up for my 780ti and probably will dial it back a little bit since the card's safe limit is 83F and it never gets close to that.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 780ti ACX SC. I was going to get the 980ti ACX SC, but it's still just about impossible to get hold of and I decided I didn't want to wait. No regrets here.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Cheap, works
Cons: Warranty sticker nonsense
Other Thoughts: I bought this to use as a Linux box. It acts as a file and print server, and monitors my CCTV cameras with ZoneMinder. I bought a cheap 8-input BT878 card to connect my cameras, so I needed a machine with an old-school PCI slot. This thing works fine, I had to void the warranty to install the capture card but oh well. I got it set up, stuck it in the closet, and it basically just works. It's on 24/7 and no heat or other issues, so I really can't complain. For the price it's less hassle than building my own.READ FULL REVIEW
