Mid 2011 iMac
Pros: A good amount of memory from a good manufacturer at a great price. Easy install. Computer works so much better now compared to when there was just 4GB of memory in the computer
Cons: Trying to get it out of the inside packaging was not easy and I was concerned that I might break the Ram. I do understand that it needs to be packed securely so that it does not break during transit but there needs to be a better way.
Overall Review: I was concerned that this would not work with my Mid 20100 iMac as the part number did not match anything on the Cruclal website. My guess is that they use different numbers for what they sell and for what they supply to other retailers.
Flaky card
Pros: It is cheap along with being able to fit into older systems. It came very quickly too from Newegg as usual. Installed easily into pci slot
Cons: I could only get it to work on the first install of the drivers in XP with my Fantom drive. After that it would not work at all after rebooting. Doing an uninstall and reinstall of the drivers resulted in the same thing. In Ubuntu 8.04 could not even get the card recognized. This is not a problem with my drive as it works fine with a USB connection in both Linux and XP. The support on the web is almost nonexistent except for some updated drivers which I seem to have been already running. Will be returning it and probably getting the Rosewill RC-210 Silicon Image Internal SATA / External eSATA card though they have the same chipset so may be forced to do another type of card.
Overall Review: Good card for the price if it works for you. This will be the first product from Newegg I will be returning so I hope it goes as smooth as everyone says it will.
Replacement Works Great
Pros: Easy install, quiet and works well. NewEgg was great in the RMA and shipping me a replacement asap. The drive is working well in both XP and LinuxMint.
Cons: The original drive was DOA. My only con is that I had to pay for shipping to return the unit.
Decent little webcam
Pros: This is an inexpensive webcam that is very easy to setup in XP and Ubuntu. UVC works as advertised which is great. The video is decent in moderate light and works great with Skype.
Cons: The camera just sits on top of the monitor holder and stays only because of gravity. Any shaking of the desk or monitor can cause the camera to fall off as it is not locked onto the holder. This can be a big problem for you and is the reason why I did not give it 5 stars.
Overall Review: very minimal software came with the webcam but there are plenty of programs that you can use in XP. Ubuntu is more limited in your choices but there are some out there. Overall this is a great webcam and should meet the needs of most people.
Great Piece of Hardware
Pros: Great price when bought on sale here at NewEgg. Easy installation in both XP and Ubuntu. While I do not get the full 300/MBs connection I am 3x faster than I was with my old Trendnet TEW-424UB. I am able to upload large files now without losing my internet connection in XP as I used to and I no longer have problems when my computer is idle. This is a great device that works whether in XP or Ubuntu. For Linux there are drivers but you can also use the XP drivers with Ndsiwraper which may be easier.
Cons: None that I can see.
Mixed Performance
Pros: The price is good and it easily picks up my network and my neighbors network. Works better in Ubuntu than in XP
Cons: In XP I loose my internet connection if I try to upload any thing more than 5 MB. If it sits around idle for more than a day I also loose internet and for both of these conditions I have to reboot. What is interesting is that my network will show as active even though I have no internet. In Ubuntu I am able to upload big files without a problem and I do not loose my internet connection when things are idle. What is strange is that I am using the XP drivers for this device in Ubuntu (Ndsiwraper) so I have to conclude that my connection problem is with Windows itself.
Overall Review: There are other adapters at the same price or even cheaper that will probably give you better performance in Windows so go use those.
Nice to see a company that does the right thing
Had ordered a product that was completely wrong in terms of quantity. Received refund almost immediately after putting in Return Request
