XFX R9-290X ENFC Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: when it works its great.

Cons: I take back my previous 5 star review of this card, when it worked I loved it, but its plagued with black screen lock ups, xfx support is just bad, taking 3-4 days to reply back, and when I finally got tired of waiting for a email response I just called and they say they have never heard of the black screen issue..... do you live under a rock? Just look at the reviews here alone, let alone taking 30 seconds on google. After a month long of black screens and multiple pc formats and hardware changes I then started getting artifacts. Sent the card back in, on my own dime! I was hesitant because it is the holidays but the rep ensured me that I would get my card back before Christmas, yea, looking at the tracking number, that's not gonna happen.

Other Thoughts: I have always liked xfx, customer support has always been good and their "former" lifetime warranty they used to carry, but now it looks like I will be looking for another manufacturer in the future. FYI I put my old gtx 670 back in my pc while waiting for the rma, it runs with no problems at all.

MSI N670GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Benchmarks good, specs are extremely similar to the gtx680 for a lot less, performs good in some games.

Cons: Worst card I have ever purchased, while in some games like metro last light it ran great, other games like skyrim, guild wars 2, the card was aweful, tons of stuttering and loading issues. Once for the first 5-10 seconds everything would stutter, then it ran fine. I had 2 of these in sli, RMAd them several times. Same issue, I literally swapped out EVERY part on my pc, to the point it was a new pc, when swapping out video cards I tried a gtx780. Same issues, I put in an amd card, boom problem gone. Tried several times with MSI to have them replace it with a amd equivalent. They refused, finally gave up and got a amd 290x, not everything on my pc works great, no stutter or loading issues.

Other Thoughts: I wont be buying any more msi or nvidia cards anytime in the future.

XFX R9-290X ENFC Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Price/performance, no more fps dips or stutter in game.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have been having issues with 2 x gtx670s for the past year, on paper these 2 cards should beat the 290x, and they do (in benchmarks) when it came to actual gaming and stable fps the 290x is amazing and destroys the 670s. Im sooo glad to get away from team green and back to team red .
