RAIDMAX Cobra ATX-502WBG Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: I've had this case for nearly a year now and wanted to update my review.
1 capable of decent airflow with all of the fan mount locations and vented areas(see cons)
2 build quality is pretty decent, plastic front panel feels a little cheap but everything else except the slides for drives are made of metal. There were no sharp edges, and no defects or damage. (See other thoughts)
3 cable management is adequate. The only things I had any problem with was the multi Molex off of my cx600m, I probably could fit it into the bulge on the right of the case, but I found it easier to stuff the extra into bottom of the 3.5 drive bay. This is low enough that it doesn't block the air from the front fan so I immagine should be fine.

Cons: 1 "Fan mount locations". The top two fan mount locations are unusable with screws. Raidmax, what are you doing? Advertise it as fan mount locations, then specifically put different holes only on the top that are about twice the size of a fan screw. I couldn't find a washer that was thin enough to let the screw thread into the fan while still having a hole small enough for the screw head. Unless you have custom screws, you will have to mount the top fans via zip ties regardless of size.

2 also fan related. If you decide to use a cpu AIO water cooler of the 120mm veriety and mount it in the rear location, you will not have room for 2 fans on the top using the spacing provided. If you offset your top fans from center, and turn them a little crooked to hit other holes with your zip ties, it will barely work.

This was very frustrating at the time of discovery, but isn't a big deal now.

Other Thoughts: As a testimdnt to the durability of this case, while it was empty (thank goodness)I dropped it off of a tall work table and it fell directly on the bottom right corner, hard. Broke a tile on the floor, and broke the plastic part off of the thumb screw. Thats pretty much it, it bent the side panel a tiny bit in the corner, but that was fixed by simply tightening the screw.

This is a decent case, I don't know if I would reccomend it to a friend, but I wouldn't steer someone away from it either. There isn't anything really bad about it, but it isn't the best at anything either, which is why it's priced as it is. If you're interested in it, try and pick it up on sale. at regular price I feel like it's on the fence.

RAIDMAX Cobra ATX-502WBG Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: have had the case for around 7 weeks now and im pretty satisfied with it overall. build quality seems pretty solid and has plenty of room.

Cons: only negative things are the case fans dont seem to be of great quality but that can be expected from a low budget case. they move air just not massive amounts of it.

it also seems like they could have moved everything to the open side of the case a little further to allot more room for cable management, there is an average amount of room available, if you dont go modular with your psu you may have to get creative.

PowerColor AX7850 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Gets pretty good fps if/when it works.

Cons: ordered this gpu, it arrived missing an adapter but that's no big deal. The big deal is that it was DOA so I rma'd it and newegg sent me a new one. I've had the new one for about 3 days now and it artifacts. Has crashed 3 times. First time fan had never sped up but Idk what the temp was, second two times logs showed the temp never went above 40. I have since underclocked it to 840 core, and 1100 vram and it hasn't crashed yet. I will be returning this one as well and getting a different brand.

Other Thoughts: This card is a risk, and at it's price, I would say it's not worth it. Go with a more reputable company imho.
