This review is from: KINAMAX ADP-IDE23 Laptop 2.5" to Desktop 3.5" IDE Hard Drive Adapter Converter
Pros: -Pretty straightforward and simple. It just connects the 2.5 inch pins to the 3.5 in pins with a molex power connector.
-PC recognized drive straight away like it was any old IDE drive. It even tried to boot off of it (make sure your BIOS boot settings are correct before using so it boots off your CORRECT drive).
Cons: Power connector seems flimsy, but it is obviously purpose built for being an adapter, not for rugged everyday handling.
Other Thoughts: Used it to retrieve data off a dead laptop's hard drive. Worked exactly as planned.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: -Plays Blu-rays great. Haven't come across any hiccups.
-Also plays and burns DVD/CD's great
-Actually doesn't look that bad
-Hasn't died yet (ALWAYS a good sign!)
-VERY quiet. At least compared to the rest of my system.
Cons: -The activity indicator is a blue LED in the button. Pretty bright too in the dark.
-The Blu-ray/DVD software it comes with is very out of date. It won't play newer Blu-rays at all (grrr, curse you DRM). So your going to need to find software that can play them. I didn't mind too much though, since I always have ways of acquiring this and I got it for cheap (like $50 on sale).
Other Thoughts: If you don't mind it not coming with proper software out of the box, this is a great drive. I wasn't going to drop the rating over that, since software becomes outdated over time naturally.
But the LED thing is a little annoying. Fortunately, during actual Blu-rays and DVD's, its not constantly on or flashing. It just flashes every couple seconds. I wish there was a way to turn it off though
Pros: Very clear and vivid
Feels like a large screen, even though it physically isn't.
VGA and DVI
Cons: Buttons are on the bottom of the monitor and labels are the exact same color as the rest of the bezel. Maybe its because I'm not used to it yet, but it makes it slightly odd to navigate the menus. Not enough to subtract an egg though, since its only on initial configuration.
Other Thoughts: I wanted something to replace my Toshiba 720p TV as my main monitor. This far exceeded my expectations, and makes my Toshiba's 1360 x 768 resolution seem extremely cramped now.
I wouldn't say this is a professional grade monitor, but for everyday use, it perfectly fine. I play games on it, and they look great.
