This review is from: ViewSonic VX2880ML-S 28” 4K Ultra HD Widescreen LED Monitor
Pros: It's huge!
It's high resolution!
No dead pixels visible to the human eye!
Cons: It has 30 fps max framerate for native resolution. It's on the spec page, and It's is not a huge limitation in a game like EU4 or Stellaris, but it's a little worse than I expected when playing faster-paced games. I'm not taking any stars off for this, because it's advertised correctly. Switching to 1080 and 4x upscaling allows for 60fps, but I'd rather have higher resolution frames than more frames.
Other Thoughts: I paired this with Ubuntu Linux running on a Skylake i7 with GTX 970, and it's great. Ubuntu handles UI scaling very nicely.
Xorg config still causes mild video tearing at high resolution, but it's not very noticeable.
I have not bothered with any features besides plugging it in via displayport, so I can't speak to any other functionality.
This review is from: WD Scorpio Blue WDBABC0010BNC-NRSN 1 TB 2.5' Internal Hard Drive - Retail Kit
Pros: Great capacity
Great form factor.
Packaging with lots of crumple-zone to protect the drive.
Cons: Died in under a month. (RMA underway 7/19)
Other Thoughts: Installation was easy, and device worked as expected for approximately three weeks. Today (7/19) during a large writing operation (installing a new game) the disk ceased to accept read and write access. It is no longer bootable, and the partitions are not accessible. I've already started an RMA, and plan to update after receiving a replacement. I anticipate that some drives are bad eggs.READ FULL REVIEW
