This review is from: BitFenix Spectre Pro BFF-LPRO-20025B-RP 200mm Blue LED Case Fan
Pros: Solid fins
Multiple mount positions
Cons: Multiple mount positions may get in the way in some case models like the corsair 600T. Did not take an egg off.
Other Thoughts: Purchased two spectre pro 200mm fans for my corsair 600t. while the front intake was mount with no problems, unfortunately this model will not fit in the top 200mm position because of the wide mounting points.
I have searched forums and the only way to fit the fan is to get a dremel and cut the excessive mounts off. Yes the fan specs list would fit but the mounting points are too broad and will hit the plastic tabs that keep the case mold together. I didn't want to do this so I will replace the stock 200mm with two 120 mm spectre pros.
Great fan if it fits. Quiet (if behind a dust filter) and pushes enough air
Pros: Easy to clean, keys are not embedded but raised.
Easy volume dial, no spamming a function key
Selective key LED lighting and 3 levels of brightness
Windows key lock
Great grey gunmetal aluminium finish
Spacebar is textured
Other Thoughts: This keyboard is simple and clean.
I moved from a Razor Blackwidow which had the keys embedded in the keyboard frame. The K70 has no such borders and makes a simple spray of compressed air clear out dust/debris.
The volume dial is handy, similar to the dial on the Corsair 2100 headset, but do not have the click to indicate movement that the headset has. No more spamming of a function key.
Double tapping IMO is much easier than blues. I had a hard time double tapping my abilities in DOTA2 since the reset point is closer to the actuation point compared to blues.
It is tactile and is quieter than the blues.
The grey gunmetal finish polishes this solid product. The earlier versions of the Blackwidow were not a matte black and would be covered in oils from my hand. Keys are a black matte finish. Really easy to clean.
Selective LED mode is handy.
This review is from: Corsair Vengeance 2100 Circumaural Wireless Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset
Solid exterior build and finish
Decent Mids/Highs using equalizer
Headband is soft/Earcups do not irritate.
Product works well when it functions.
Cons: ~12 feet unobstructed with USB dongle in clear line of sight, audio cuts.
Audio cuts out frequently and randomly. I have tried troubleshooting as listed below.
Audio drops for no apparent reason while sitting right next to broadcasting dongle.
Other Thoughts: Using the equalizer from Corsair really helped clear up some of the higher and mid range sounds. Bass is there but relatively weak.
The virtual surround can be passed, humans have 2 ears and the traditional headset is fine. I tried using it in CSGO, but audio just seemed more distant (Possibly due to habit) and unclear/muddy in comparison to the default 2 stereo setup. 2 audio sources are fine, virtual surround really doesn't had any tactical advantage IMO.
Left/Right + Weak/Loud = Audio Detection. It works, and just stick with traditional audio setups while using 2 speaker sources. True surround sound may provide better audio detection. But there are only 2 50mm drivers here.
I believe after testing the headset the advertised 40 feet range is a diameter measurement and not the radius away from the USB dongle. I did not have any walls/doors/obstructions between me and the broadcasting dongle. I turned off any 2.4 Ghz devices (router/wireless landline), not sure if that would do anything but hoped it would clear the signal. I would sit <1 ft away from the dongle at chest height and still have drops in audio.
Experienced frequent audio cuts during video games and internet use. The following were attempted.
Plugged into another computer, problem persisted.
Tried BF4, XCOM, Sleeping Dogs, and DOTA2. problem persisted in all games.
Downloaded Corsair 2100 drivers, problem persisted.
Checked Corsair Audio forums for troubleshooting, no solutions to my problem.
This flagship headset from Corsair, that I received, simply does not work properly consistently. Others may have a functional product, but my frequent audio is irritating and impedes me from gaming. Everyone needs to have faith in their gear, I don't like walking around in CSGO with audio cutting out few rounds at random times.
I love Corsair cases, memory, and the K70 brown keyboard. But I am not satisfied with the 2100 headset.
Prior to this I used a Sennheiser HD 280 Pro for audio with a cheapo headset around my neck for microphone. I'll be reverting to that until I find a suitable replacement.
2 eggs for being comfy and easy to setup, but cannot give anymore because the main attribute of the headset is not working consistently. Figured I wouldn't get the full 40 feet, but just disappointed that it may just be listed as the diameter range and not a straight 40 feet length away no eggs taken for that. They did not specifically say 40 ft length, but 40 feet range.
Returning product. Hopefully this is an isolated defect. I really wanted it to work, because when it works it's fantastic. I hate wires all over my desk.
