This review is from: Logitech Z623 200 W 2.1 Speaker System, THX-Certified
Pros: Small two normal speakers, fit nicely on desktop.
Bass and Speakers provide the right kind of sound to let music really breath
Cons: Huge"ish" bass
Proprietary cable on one of the connections making lengthening the cables very tricky.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for that right balance of price and sound quality - this is the sweet spot. Working as a video editor, I was very particular about the quality of the audio. I didn't need precise studio speakers, but I did need ones that were clear and powerful enough to let me hear the quality of my audio cuts. For music, these speakers are loud enough and have enough bass boom to really shake the room. Yet, the subwoofer isn't overly powerful as to ruin the clarity of the sound. You can't go wrong here.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Hardware wise, it's pretty solid. It doesn't talk back to you and it does what it's told.
Compared to the nikon coolscan 9000 this scanner worked better for me in getting through the more dense negatives. For most high end amateurs this will be the ticket for putting up your shows. I recently graduated and was used to working with a c41 printer for all of my work. But this scanner was able to alleviate that need. You can do 50x60 prints very easily with this scanner from medium to large format negatives. If your a die hard film shooter and need gear that will honor your negatives, this is it. In fact, I don't really know of any modern hardware that will scan large format negatives.
Cons: So far none. The 8x10 plastic film guide is pretty flimsy, but doesn't inhibit you from a quality scan.
Other Thoughts: These are becoming rare to get, this scanner is about the only option for most large format photographers who don't have access to higher end scanners. For a struggling medium such as film, this scanner put my mind at ease. I would love to have this upsized to 20x24 so I could scan in my c prints as well.READ FULL REVIEW
