Good so far

Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Fast compared to my previous WD scorpio 5400 RPM drive. Installed latest ubuntu, noticeable speed increase.

Cons: Is warmer, louder, and more power hungry compared to previous drive. That's to be expected. Extra power draw is minimal. Old drive was .5 watts, this one uses about 1, which is insignificant considering my CPU uses about 35.

Overall Review: Using Read-Only Benchmark from Ubuntu's disk utility: Min Read Rate:26.9mb/s Max Read Rate:105mb/s Average: 76.8mb/s Average Access Time: 17.5ms done on a Gateway MX6959

This game does work on windows 7

Pros: The game works fine on windows 7. The latest patch disables its copy protection entirely. If you go Tages website, and download the latest version of Tages, the unpatched stalker will work fine, activation, disk protection and all.

Cons: none

Overall Review: don't be an idiot. check for updates.

Good

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-850TX 850 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-850TX 850 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Provides consistent, stable power. Black sleeves help airflow. Extra wires were easily stashed in the bottom of my Antec 900. The cabling and sleeves make it easy to perform cable management. Comes with a velvet bag to put it in for all those times you carry around your power supply outside your case.

Cons: It was kind of hard to get the 20+4 pin connector in, because the +4 part wouldn't line up quite right.

Overall Review: After upgrading from a 500 watt unit, I was able to push my components significantly further.

Pretty good

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100259-1GL
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100259-1GL

Pros: Its a pretty good card. About what I expected. I can run Crysis @ 1440 x 900 on "very high" and 8x antialiasing with greater than 30 fps. I can barely run stalker clear sky at 25-30 fps at the same resolution, with all settings set to max, view distance maxed, and 4x antialiasing. I didn't need to upgrade my power supply. I have the Ultra X-Finity 500W. I got the open box version for cheaper.

Cons: It was pretty hard to cram in there.

Overall Review: It has green LED's on top of it. Why are they there? They aren't particularly attractive or bright. Perhaps they are debug lights? No one cares about world of warcraft. No one cares how your videocard can run it.

Pros: If you liked the first STALKER, you will like this one even more. Many problems have been addressed, like spaced out action, and having to walk long distances. It has really good graphics, if your computer is up to it.

Cons: If you didn't like the first STALKER, there's really no reason why you would like this one. You're forced to install the Tages driver, which is basically like Securom copy protection. The only running servers are in Russia with pings of like 200ms.

Overall Review: Like the first STALKER, you don't even have to enter a serial number if you don't want to play online.

Excellent

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX

Pros: Its fast. It has 4 cores. It has an unlocked multplier. It stays cooler than my old 939 4200+ X2. It comes with a decent looking cooler that has heatpipes, but I didn't use it. I used Biostar's automatic overclocking utility, which easily put it to 3.6 GHz. Easy peasy, nice and cool.

Cons: Doesn't come with a nice case badge like my old CPU did.

Overall Review: The AMD 790 GX chipset is pretty impressive.
