Lenovo Laptop G50 (80E301GUUS) AMD A8-Series A8-6410 (2.00 GHz) 4 GB Memory 500 GB HDD AMD Radeon R5 Series 15.6

Pros: Pretty fast once you pare down the bloatware and background memory leaches.
VGA port for use with older projectors
10-Key pad on the right of keyboard.
I like the power port. Feels secure.
I actually like the power usage monitor that Lenovo has pre-installed.
Dolby sound is pretty legit.

Cons: Lenovo Bloatware.
Left click button sometimes seems unresponsive.
Trackpad and mouse buttons don't seem high quality to me.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to serve as my small business powerpoint and browsing machine. This is the biggest laptop I have ever bought. 15.6 inches is actually a little bigger than I expected. I have an 11 inch chromebook i like the feel way better. The bloatware is real. It survives the Windows 10 upgrade. Others suggest reformatting but I don't want to lose drivers. I just uninstalled a few pointless bloatware programs and kept a few that might come in handy one day; the computer runs fine with a few useless programs - I just deleted the shortcuts so I dont have to look at them. You'll want to go to the task manager tho and turn them off from startup and background operations. After I cleaned up the disk a bit, it boots to desktop in like 15 seconds (maybe less). Hearthstone plays well on this. I'm not a big fan of Windows 10. Apps seem useless to me. Especially with no touchscreen. Anywho, I'm doubling the RAM for fun. I'm glad I got this.

3 out of 5 eggs Buy for yourself, not for others 03/13/2015

This review is from: DELL Desktop PC OptiPlex 760 Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz 4GB 1 TB HDD Windows 7 Professional 64bit

Pros: Inexpensive, Small Form Factor, Decent Specs

Cons: Problematic from the start. Hard Drive makes a disturbingly loud rattling sound, the PC froze on installing windows updates and then had multiple boot failures and BSOD's. Finally was able to system restore. 2 months later the RAM failed and needed replacement. Now working but cost my client an additional $60, plus my time in remedying all these issues.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to help a little old lady who lives an hour away from me. This was a mistake. Do not buy a refurb for someone as a favor unless they are computer literate and live nearby. I will say that the Joy Systems tech support was very helpful and friendly, and re-stated the 1 year warranty, however the inconvenience of returning this machine is now not worth the money I paid for it.

Logitech MK120 Wired USB Keyboard and Mouse - Black

4 out of 5 eggs Inexpensive, Basic, Functional 05/30/2014

This review is from: Logitech MK120 Wired USB Keyboard and Mouse - Black

Pros: Simple, cheap, and works

Cons: Both KB & Mouse are a little on the lightweight side
The KB keys are very low & flat - I wish they were more pronounced with a wider gap between key surfaces - I don't feel confident about which I'm pressing when I look away.

Other Thoughts: Seems like the best budget KB/Mouse combo
