ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easiest motherboard to OC I've ever had without having to play with voltages and a dozen setup details. ASRock UEFI BIOS lets you pick the target CPU OC speed and it does everything else for you. OC'd mine to 4.4GHz with 3570K CPU on air with zero issues. Includes Fatal1ty Mouse Port if you need this feature for gaming (if not, the ASRock Extreme4 is the board to pick).

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: As with any new MB preparation is key. I downloaded latest BIOS and drivers from ASRock website and skipped the install disk that came with the board. No IDE or floppy connector, means you might have to buy new HDD and optical drives if you're replacing an old MB. BIOS flash is by USB Flash drive or directly over the internet from UEFI.

XIGMATEK Aegir SD128264 Mega Killer Double HDT 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler Dual Fan LGA 2011 I7 i5 775 1155 1156 1150 Haswell and AMD compatible

Pros: Quiet fan, easy to control speed with Z77 Motherboard by PWM and BIOS. Getting max core temps 66C on ivy bridge 3570K at 4.4GHz, very pleased with these results. I would definitely buy the Xigmatek Aegir again.

Cons: Getting the fan mounted onto the little rubber pins was a chore. You can't push the fan onto the pins, I had to put some silicone Lube onto the rubber pins first and then pull them thru the fan holes with pliers to get them correctly seated on the fan housing. You'll need to install the heatsink and fan while the MB out of the case.

Other Thoughts: With the exception of the fan installation, the heatsink mounting to the MB was straightforward. The heatsink metal backplate for the fan can be installed 'backwards' on Z77, so look at the backplate and the 3 screw tails that are behind the CPU socket to find the correct alignment.

Pros: Running 9-9-9-24-1t @ 1.5v on my ASRock Z77. Low profile DIMMs will fit under most large CPU heat sinks and fans.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Not a con, you likely will need to setup the RAM timings in your BIOS to get rated speed and CAS values. Newbies, don't be surprised by this, even if you're not overclocking you should plan to go into the BIOS and check the RAM speed and CAS to make sure you're getting what you paid for.
