Other Thoughts: After running Samsung Magician (came with SSD) to optimize the OS (Windows 8.1 for me) and enabling RAPID, my drive benchmark scores went off the charts! Using userbenchmark.com my sequential mixed read/write speed was an amazing 2,826MB/s!! It received a UBM score of 413% on userbenchmark.com. According to userbenchmark.com "A 100% UBM score indicates speeds that match the ten highest user rated SSDs." This drive is 4 times faster than the 10 fastest. Prior to running The Samsung Magician, it received a 100% UBM score.
The reason for this insane speed is RAPID. RAPID is a software-based feature in Samsung's most recent build of Magician. Simply, it uses a gigabyte of system memory for caching hot data. Frequently-used applications are stored in RAM, yielding much faster accesses when that data is needed over and over. Unlike other RAM-based caching solutions, RAPID keeps cached data persistent between reboots by writing information to the SSD itself.
