This review is from: MSI GS60 Ghost-470 Gaming Laptop 4th Generation Intel Core i7 4700HQ (2.40 GHz) 12 GB Memory 1 TB HDD 128 GB M.2SATA SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2 GB 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit Multi-language
Pros: Lightweight, good keyboard with LED, fast processing speed (i7-4710HQ), good case design, a nearly perfect laptop for game and work.
Cons: fan noise is loud and minor screen bleeding
Other Thoughts: I needed a laptop that I could play game and work, and this suits me pretty well. The same laptop with 970m is nice but costs more so I decided to get this one instead. I replaced the memory to HyperX CL9 and 1TB 7200RPM to Mushkin 1TB SSD and it does help to gain extra performance.
2 fans are loud when I play games like Dragon Age Inquisition and Assassin's Creed Unity. MMORPG like Neverwinter is good at highest settings. DAI at high setting is acceptable, and I have no complaint but ACU I need to tweak the setting a bit so the game runs smoothly.
Overall I like this laptop, the best laptop I have ever had next to Macbook Pro.
Pros: Fast, it's even faster than my Adata SP900 512GB SSD. Low price and no problem at all.
Other Thoughts: Hope it won't die after I post this review. :PREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: Small form factor and run all 1080p videos no problem at all. Great for XBMC/MCE. It uses 2.5" SSD/HDD, cheaper storage solution than mSATA Intel NUC. No overheat issue to me.
Cons: Problem with Windows installation. Instruction on Intel website does not work. Problem with system time and system won't turn off on OpenELEC, it just hangs. Read other thoughts.
Other Thoughts: All my hardware have no problem but I had a bunch of BSOD while installing Windows 7/8 on this NUC. I am tired of trying, luckily I happened to have a spare SSD with Win7 on it, I just plugged it in, then it loaded no problem and I have been using this little thing to watch streaming videos, no problem so far. However, this PC seems no battery onboard so once you turn it off completely, you need to adjust clock next time you turn it back on. Not a problem to me since I don't really care as long as I can watch videos. I have 2 more i3 NUC, this is by far the cheapest and most difficult thing to work with, I am pretty sure I won't buy a second unit. Hope Intel can release another cheap and improved NUC.READ FULL REVIEW
