good ram
Pros: plug and play ram. worked perfectly with the diy kit i ordered with an i5 3570. the ram read with the advertised timings as well. The blue heat sync also matched my blue leds. and can you say lifetime warranty! heck yea!
Cons: none!
Overall Review: i always buy gskill ram for the warranty alone. good to have a company that stands by its product
I want to like it
Pros: ran great when it did. maxed out the newest CoD with no trouble and the included AC3 game. With precision x the temps stayed under 70c.
Cons: 2 days of gaming in the card began to checkerboard the screen during gaming and crashing the game due to a driver failure. this turned into full on system crashing until the pc no longer recognized the card.
Overall Review: in the process of rmaing the card with evga (good support just wish they would pay for the shipping on defective items). this seems like a fairly common problem with the sc version of the gtx6xx series cards. hopefully the new card will work reliably. if it does than its a great card.
7 long lasting years
Pros: Flat out reliable Braided cables Modular
Cons: cable braiding holds in dust
Overall Review: Bought this unit back in 2012 in a bundle. Ran this with everything from sli 660s to a 980ti with an i5 3570k overlocked. never missed a beat through the years. Finally recently I began experiencing random power failures. I replaced with a corsair tx750m I had on hand but time will tell if I should have stuck with getting another Hive. Overall it's all I could ask for from a good psu.
Great little water cooler
Pros: -idle temps dropped from 30c-35c to 20-25c (intel i5 3570k oc'd to 4.2) -load temps (with intel burn test) went from 85c to 74c max -very quiet even under full load -fits nicely into case and install was fairly straightforward -looks really nice in my rosewill blackhawk case
Cons: the mounting bracket that fits to the back of the mobo was a little finicky to get on an 1155 board. had to slide parts of the bracket to make it fit. not a big deal really.
Overall Review: definitely a great little cooler. this is my first liquid cooler and im really liking it.
great SSD
Pros: this thing is fast. upgraded from a 7200 rpm seagate momentus xt that was considered a "hybrid drive" with a small amount of flash memory to make it faster. this thing blows it out of the water. I get sequential read/writes of 495/252 on SataIII. It can hold windows 7 and a few games perfectly fine.
Cons: the shiny blue hdd caddy wouldn't fit in on my hdd sled. not worth docking an egg though
Overall Review: for some reason windows experience index wont run on the drive. no big deal but it just wont finish.
Pros: works good over the network but I would suggest either 1000mbps ethernet or 300mbps wireless n to transfer files to/from the drive. at 54mbps wireless g it is cripplingly slowwww. works well as a media server using skifta on my desktop and android phone. the bittorrent client it comes with is pretty handy and works well.
Cons: the settings manager in the browser is horrible. its slow to load and buggy as all heck to get things like web access enabled and stable.
Overall Review: i don't schedule backups to this drive so can't comment on how that works. If you can get past the horrible settings process it turns out to be a decent drive especially for the price per size and features. i have also used a seagate version of a nas and its interface is much nicer and easier to operate but also a bit more expensive for the size.
