Pros: RMA process is easy.
Cons: Arrived DOA, a first for me on Newegg.
It grinds, tries to spin up over and over, and hangs the BIOS.
Other Thoughts: I have another one of these, along with several 2TB WDs, running long & strong.
(1 five Egg for that one + 1 one Egg for this one) / 2 = 3 Eggs.
It was packaged decently, I don't believe the DOA was Newegg's fault.
This review is from: SYBA SY-U2SAIDE USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter with Power Adapter
Pros: Worked like a charm while it lasted.
Cons: Died after about a dozen uses.
Power supply gets too hot to not worry about. Not for unattended use.
Made in China; poor solder work. Came with a brandless HS002-5-12 supply.
Other Thoughts: Where are the respected manufacturers? It seems like Newegg sells thousands of these across all the different brands, and they each have at least a few complaints of mass destruction!
I'd gladly pay 4 times the price if I could get one that didn't cause worry about the health of my drives and motherboard, and lasts at least a few years of intermittent use.
I have an excellent Thermaltake SATA dock, but we need IDE and laptop IDE too!
Disclaimer: I did not purchase this from Newegg.
This review is from: Transcend 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model TS2GSDC
Pros: Cheap. It was fast while it lasted.
Cons: It died after less than 3 months of occasional use. Now unable to successfully format in Windows or Linux.
Other Thoughts: Some card readers now report its size normally (1.90GB), others say 975MB? SDFormatter by Panasonic for Windows claims the write-protect switch is set... Looks like 1/2 the flash in it went to meet the great CPU in the sky. I suppose you get what you pay for. Never again will I stray from S*****k.READ FULL REVIEW
