ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Very nice features. Bios was very thorough.

Cons: This board was very unstable. It would boot even with defaults when it felt like it. Most of the time i was left with a blinking cursor after it posted no matter the bios settings. I even manually cleared the cmos with the jumper and was still left with the same thing. Avoid this mother board even as part of a combo.

Other Thoughts: This board was paired with a fx-8350 chip and 8 gigs of 1333 Team Vulcan memory. Newegg was nice enough after explaining to them what was happening to issue me a return label for this board without charging me for it. Thank you New Egg for standing by your customer.

2 out of 5 eggs Avoid if sharing with a central server 08/05/2013

This review is from: brother HL-4150CDN Color Laser Printer with Duplex and Networking

Pros: Looks nice. prints just as good as any other laser out there.

Cons: Can not share this printer in any fashion. I have a central linux server box that uses the same drivers as mac (CUPS). I can not get it to share the printer with any of my macs, windows, or linux desktop machines. I called support to see if they can help me with settings. They instead blew me off and told me to just set all the machines up separately and then told me to have a good day. They didn't do anything else. They didn't even try to assist with settings to make sure i had them correct for the network. Guess i will be going back to HP for my next printer.

Other Thoughts: Avoid if you are using any *Nix systems including Mac OS X.

Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit WorkStation Memory Model CT2KIT25672AA667
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: The memory fit perfectly. It came in a nice package. It was shipped fasst

Cons: Not neweggs fault. Had 2 of these kits from here and both did not work. Called crucial about this and they informed me that they changed the manufacturing of the memory from high density to low density. This affected how my mother board accesses the memory. Both kits did not work in my S3000AH board from intel. I have returned the memory to crucial directly and they sent me the older style high density memory since.

Other Thoughts: There should be a separate part number to distinguish between the 2 styles of memory. One for older computers that don't support low density and one for those that due.
