Technical Issues
Pros: Arrived on time and in apparently good condition. Was easy enough to install, just plug it into the PCI Slot.
Cons: Drivers which come with card are worthless, new ones must be immediately downloaded from NVIDIA site. It's possible that I made some sort of mistake in installing the card, but I doubt it, as I have done this many times before. After installation online games like World of Warcraft have long load times and frame rate drops not present before: although graphics are able to be rendered on a slightly better level, there is a definite series of problems that did not manifest themselves until after installation. Essentially this card is worse than my old one, and that was a GeForce 5 series card vs. this (apparent) GeForce 6 series.
Overall Review: You probably take a risk upgrading a computer that is old enough so that you are forced to use PCI anyway. Better off just buying a new computer unless you just don't have the money. Rather than upgrading just get a computer with a better motherboard, a better processor, better power supply, better everything, it wont cost much more than this card. Im going to give this card one more day to stop having problems, maybe troubleshoot a little, but after that I'll be sending it back. A definite fall in performance from what I was having before the upgrade.
