Works great

Honeywell / Metrologic MK9535-79B538 Barcode Scanner
Honeywell / Metrologic MK9535-79B538 Barcode Scanner

Pros: Reliable scanning. BlueTooth wireless is really convenient.

Cons: For some reason, ~1% UPC barcodes are not recognized by this scanner. This model does not have memory chip for inventory mode, which allows you scan inventory in batch without communicating with the base / PC.

Overall Review: Symbol might have better quality and better documentation. But it costs a *lot* more.

Most Critical Review

Toner Life End Error

Brother MFC Series MFC-8860DN MFC / All-In-One Up to 30 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / LPT / USB Laser Printer
Brother MFC Series MFC-8860DN MFC / All-In-One Up to 30 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / LPT / USB Laser Printer

Pros: The machine itself is good actually.

Cons: Brother added some kind of toner detection mechanism. It now says "Toner Life End" error. The only problem is I have not even run through 500 sheets of paper yet and the prints are crystal clear. But yet the printer simply refuse to print. Hopefully this is not Le*mark type of scam which detects toner manufacturing date. Yes, Brother wants your money for toners! My next printer will likely be a HP. Why don't they just rob people.

Overall Review: If you are person printing a page, don't you know best when it is time to replace the toner? What kind of detection is it anyway when the print out are still crystal clear? I have another Brother printer, which does not have this toner detection - I mostly print on it because it's a pure printer not MFC.

Colors very dull. Bad Windows drivers.

brother HL Series HL-4570CDW Workgroup Up to 30 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer
brother HL Series HL-4570CDW Workgroup Up to 30 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: Wireless Ethernet port.

Cons: 1. Colors not vivid at all. Very dull colors. 2. Bad windows drivers cause Windows 7 64-bit to completely freeze up. Had to roll back to a restore point prior to driver / printer installation. 3. Wireless / wired Ethernet setup is very quirky. Wireless port and Wired Ethernet port cannot be active at the same time. If you enable wireless port, the wired port is disabled -- the light on the Ethernet switch will not even light up. You have to do a network setting reset to re-activate the wired Ethernet port. Simply turn printer off / back on will not reset it.

Overall Review: Always bought Brother printers. This is really bad one. Office Depot's Xerox color printers have much better colors. So unfortunately, when we need high quality color prints, we still go to Office Depot.

Bad packet latency

TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)
TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: Signal is strong

Cons: Horrible packet latency on Windows 7 Home 32 bit in G or N mode. Using driver included on CD, ping latency is around 500 ms to 800 ms. Using latest driver from manufacturer website ping latency is routinely 40 ms to 80 ms. Also, connection freezes every couple of hours. Other adapters with the same wireless AP have ping back in < 1 ms and no freeze.

Overall Review: Most likely a driver issue. It uses Atheros chip. But Atheros site provides no driver updates. TP-Link probably need to release new and updated driver.

Beautiful screen, fast CPU, great built quality

Pros: Beautiful high quality screen, very fast CPU, great build quality. A great no-fuss business laptop. No junk software installed whatsoever. Windows XP Pro.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Would be nice it is totally silent with SSD and extra low voltage CPU. But for the money, it is great as an essential business laptop.

Narrow viewing angle, color not accurate, screen hard to read

SCEPTRE X226W-1920 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR(10000:1) 1000:1, US Warranty
SCEPTRE X226W-1920 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR(10000:1) 1000:1, US Warranty

Pros: High resolution, full 1080p. Zero dead pixels.

Cons: 1. Viewing angle is very narrow and atrocious. You can move your head 20 degree and see color tone change. 2. color is not accurate at all in default, preset or ECO settings. 3. Since screen size is small, the pixel is small too. Screen hard to read.

Overall Review: Using VGA port connecting to a laptop, not DVI port. My old D3LL 19" monitor has far more superior performance. Should have bought a D3LL UltraSharp instead. You get what you pay for, I guess.
