1 out of 5 eggs Horrible... 02/13/2014

This review is from: D-Link DHP-309AV PowerLine AV500 Mini Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Easily connected, just slow

Cons: Horrible throughput... Before I upgraded to AT&T gigapower (300 MBps up and down) the speed was fine. Now that I’ve upgraded light years beyond my previous internet connection I can’t get these adapters to go above 40 MBps. Tried same room outlets 5 feet apart, same room same outlet, different rooms directly above each other with the similar results. Tech support is useless, talked to two people and currently on hold to speak with a supervisor. The funny thing is this is advertised at 500 MBps, but the specs say the RJ-45 port is 10/100. I’m no IT expert but I’m pretty sure when the connection maxes at 100 MBps that you are not going to exceed that.
