ZOTAC X58SLI-A-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
ZOTAC X58SLI-A-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Updated BIOS released today, 3/30 resolved the RAM issue (notes said it was to improve performance for SLI setups in Vista but I'm not going to complain).

Cons: Still can't OC anything.

Overall Review: Received my new motherboard 3 days ago. Both PCIe slots now work, power still cycles when I boot up the system (not sure what the deal is with that) and the RAM WAS still slow with more than 1 stick installed. Tech support was trying to blame the memory manufacturer and I was going to call up Newegg to try to get a credit for it when I saw there was an updated bios released this morning, would be nice if tech support could keep up with that. Anyhow, so far so good after flashing. Bit of a headache, missed out on some rebates, but it's now running as I had hoped it would.

Pros: Comp is running for now.

Cons: Header for case audio inputs is covered by "primary" PCIe x 16 slot. BIOS won't allow you to OC anything from what I can tell, only allows you to force slower settings, kinda a bummer when I bought DDR3-1333 but the SPD is set to 1066 to ensure system will post and if I select FORCE 1333 from BIOS it stays at 1066, though I can FORCE 800 and it will allow that.

Overall Review: Going through RMA process right now. Have tested the PSU and it seems fine yet when I turn on the computer the power cycles on/off and then powers up about 2-3 seconds later. "Primary" PCIe slot won't detect a video card, secondary will. Can run a single memory module in DIMM slot 2, 4, or 6 and the computer will run decent, however when I try to put in a second or third tri-chanel module the system becomes unbearably slow, even when running Memtest86+ so I'm assuming it's something with BIOS, not sure, Zotac customer support replied a few times but haven't heard anything now for 2 days, 30 day limited non-refundable return from newegg so hopefully this is just a dud board. Figured since noone had posted yet that I would give you my 2 cents. Will post a follow up after RMA. Other Zotac boards seem to get good reviews so I went with this one, wouldn't make that decision again...
