Rosewill RHB-520 10-Port High Speed USB 2.0 Hub - Retail
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Immediately recognizes in Win7HP - didn't even have to wait for it to detect and install, it just magically worked right away at boot (my keyboard is plugged into this hub and I was able to start typing my password right away when Windows came up). Very compact size, no bigger than it needs to be.

Cons: Power cord is about 4 feet, USB cable is about 3 feet. Blue LED's may be considered "bright" by some peoples standards if you are looking straight at them but at an angle they're fine.

Other Thoughts: Holes on back for vertical or horizontal mounting - screws not included.

WD Blue 500GB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD5000AAKX
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: A good budget drive. This is replacing another WD Blue drive that lasted about 1.5 years before developing bad sectors. If you got the money I'd suggest going for a WD Black.

Cons: In my experience these Blue drives have a life expectancy of 1-3 years. Good for budgets. Remember to back up or RAID just in case. Better than the Green drives though.

Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET)
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Re-applying thermal paste is a must when re-installing heat sinks. I used to use rubbing alcohol which worked okay but this stuff is amazing. This dissolves the paste quickly and thoroughly and leaves you with a like-new shiny surface. I will continue to use this product for as long as I'm doing PC work. Also works great for removing thermal pad residue commonly found on GPUs, memory, and NB/SB.

Cons: Has a strong, but pleasant citrussy smell. Only a con because whenever I open my box of computer stuff it makes me hungry haha.
