Size/Noise tradeoff not good for me

ASUS Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card R7250-1GD5
ASUS Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card R7250-1GD5

Pros: Smaller than other R7 250 graphics cards so takes up less room in case. Good monitoring software included. No need for 6 pin power connector - runs off power from motherboard. Good capability for watching HD material or streaming to TV. Don't play games so don't know about capability there.

Cons: Fan was too noisy for me and I returned it for that reason. It appears fan is smaller than for other R7 250 cards, so that may be the reason for the noise, but perhaps just a bad card. I bought another R7 250 card from another manufacturer that is larger and has a bigger fan and the noise is not a problem even though it runs at same speed according to Catalyst Control Center.

Overall Review: Always tradeoffs - if you want smaller you apparently have to endure more noise (unless it was just a bad card) from smaller fan. I was not willing to do so.

Works as expected

G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS
G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS

Pros: It's basic memory so what can you say. Easy to install, works as expected and price was very reasonable.

Cons: None

MSI Needs to Seal Boxes

MSI Radeon R7 250 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card R7 250 2GD3 OC
MSI Radeon R7 250 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card R7 250 2GD3 OC

Pros: Card is great for my uses - playing back HD material and streaming to TV (like HTPC, run an HDMI to TV). I do not play games. The R7 250 cards are almost the same price as the R7240 cards, so for a basic graphics card to get the best for HTPC in a mid tower PC this is a good card.

Cons: MSI does not seal boxes so you can't be sure you are really getting a new card. They only tape the anti-static bag inside the box, but with tape that can be reapplied in a way that you can't be sure it was opened. I returned the card because the box for the graphics card inside the Newegg box was open and the card in the bag was out of the box! Why can't MSI seal the outside box like their competitors do or as software manufacturers do so you know the box has never been opened?

Doesn't Work

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 CrossFireX Support Low Profile Video Card (UEFI Ready) AX5450 1GBK3-SHEV4
PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 CrossFireX Support Low Profile Video Card (UEFI Ready) AX5450 1GBK3-SHEV4

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Didn't work when installed on 2 different computers. Followed instructions from manufacturer to the letter. Then, installed a Radeon HD 6570 card on both of those computers and it worked on both computers so problem must be with the card - either DOA or incompatible for some unknown reason.

Works Fine

Cons: None
