Pros: Adapter works great with SSD. Using the PCI-e V2.0 slot, an OCZ Vertex 460 achieves 492 MB/s read and 475 MB/s write speeds, which is very close to the rated speed and much faster than my onboard SATA II connection.
Unfortunately, I had to use a PCI-e X16 video card slot, which is version 2.0 since the X8 slot is only version 1.0. When used on a PCI-e V1.0, it only achieved 345 MB/s write and 290 MB/s write (onboard SATA II was 259 MB/s read and 246 MB/s write).
Good price for the features, although I have not tried the RAID or Cache yet. The main reason for purchasing this card over other cards using PCI-e X1 is to maximize a SSD.
Cons: None, other than the IOPS changed from 48,000 for read and write using SATA II compared to 33,000 read and 62,000 write using the PCI-e X16 slot.
Other Thoughts: If you only have PCI-e V1.0, the card will yield only marginal improvements over SATA II. All testing was done using Anvil Storage Utilities v1.1.0READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Cools Xeon X5650 similar to Noctua NH-U9DXi4 in dual CPU workstation. Cores within 2-3 deg C of each other.
Fan is quiet even when running at max speed.
Cons: None for heatsink/fan combo. Newegg needs to refine their "Server accessories" catagory.
Other Thoughts: I wish I would have found this when I purchased the Noctua cooler several month ago for double the price. This item should be under Heatsink/coolers. The server accessories catagory is too bloated to be of much use. I just happened to stumble upon it while looking for something else.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: EVERCOOL EC9238H12BP 92mm Case Fan
Pros: Fan moves a lot of air, especially at full speed. Even at lower speeds, it moves more air than "quiet" fans.
38 mm fan has higher static pressure than 25 mm fans for better cooling on heat sink. Make sure you can fit the wider fan.
Cons: It is quite loud at full speed on my CPU , although it runs 7C lower on my Noctua (when using the high fan setting in my BIOS). It almost sounds like a small vacuum cleaner.
At normal setting, it runs 3C lower. At this setting, the fan is noticable but not annoying.
Other Thoughts: Replaced one of two fans on a Noctua CPU cooler. The Noctua fans are dead quiet but I could tolerate a little noise for more efficient cooling.READ FULL REVIEW
