CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

1 out of 5 eggs Unacceptable performance 01/03/2014

This review is from: CORSAIR Voyager GT 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model CMFVYGT3A-128GB

Pros: None

Cons: I could not get this flash key to work for x64 versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1.

On every machine I tried using this flash key, the device was not properly recognized by Windows. On some machines it would "connect", but I could not read/write any files to the device.

Other Thoughts: I would award negative stars to this Corsair 128 GB USB 3.0 flash key if it were possible. Flash keys are expected to work without hassle. If this is a driver/firmware issue, then shame on Corsair for doing such a sloppy job.

What's worse, I bought a 32 GB Corsair USB 3.0 flash key which is exhibiting the exact same issues. I'm really disappointed. I own 2 other USB 2.0 Corsair flash keys, and those continue to work very well. But Corsair's USB 3.0 flash keys are awful.

And, I thought it couldn't get any worse. But it did. I tried calling customer support and tech support to get these issues resolved. When I reached customer support (after waiting 30 minutes on hold), they told me to call tech support because they couldn't do anything for me. When I called the tech support line, there was no one available. There was only a pre-recorded message saying something to the effect of "We're terribly sorry but there is no one available to take your call. Please leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.". Really??? Unbelievable!

Don't waste your time or money on this product like I did.

Pros: None

Cons: I could not get this flash key to work for x64 versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1. I got it working for x86 version of Windows XP SP3 on one (and only one) old machine that I had lying around. On practically every machine I tried using this flash key, the device was not properly recognized by Windows. On some machines it would "connect", but I could not read/write any files to the device.

Other Thoughts: I would award negative stars to this Corsair 32 GB USB 3.0 flash key if it were possible. Flash keys are expected to work without hassle. If this is a driver/firmware issue, then shame on Corsair for doing such a sloppy job.

Cooler Master GeminII S524 - CPU Cooler with Aluminum Fins and 5 Heatpipes

4 out of 5 eggs Good fit and reasonable price 10/03/2012

This review is from: Cooler Master GeminII S524 - CPU Cooler with Aluminum Fins and 5 Heatpipes

Pros: I tried 2 other coolers which didn't fit my server case before finding this one. This was one of the few CPU coolers that fit with my 4U Norco RPC-470 server case and Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboard. Also, this cooler has a good amount of clearance so that it fits with RAM that has tall heat sinks (G Skill Ripjaws Z). The build quality appears to be good as well.

Cons: From the reviews that I've read, this cooler isn't the most effective. Apparently, it's just above "average". I haven't stress tested my system yet, so I can't confirm or deny those reports. So far it appears to work fine for my purposes. But if you're planning to do some extreme overclocking, you might consider other coolers.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a reasonably priced CPU cooler that fits in a 4 U server case, this one will probably succeed where other coolers might fail.
