LOGISYS Computer VC6006 Dracula VGA Cooler

5 out of 5 eggs awesome cooler 07/04/2012

This review is from: LOGISYS Computer VC6006 Dracula VGA Cooler

Pros: Nice cooler, quality craftsmanship, and cools extremely well. Reduced temps on my GTX 570 by 14ºC @ idle and by 9ºC under load, so I am happy.

Cons: Unfortunately, there are two cons, but they are not anything to do with it's performance as a cooler. The first, for the price, it should come with the fans. The second con is the mounting procedure and mounting space required. I know they set it up this was to try and save space from PCi-E slot to PCi-E slot, but I still don't like how the fans must be mounted and regardless, it does still take up some space. If your PCi-E slots are close together, you more than likely will only be able to use "one" of these, depending on your tower. I have two PC's, my towers are the Antec NineHundred Two & Antec TwelveHundred Two, my motherboard's are the Asus Sabertooth 990FX and Asus M5A99X Evo, this cooler works well with both boards because of the multiple PCi-E slots and tri/quad SLi (and Xfire) support, but only in my Antec TwelveHundred Two case. Other than that, it's awsome. Just make sure you have the required space before you get it. It does cool very well.

Other Thoughts: I ended up attaching (3) Antec variable speed 80mm fans directly to the cooler instead of using the recommended 120mm fans on the included bracket, mainly because the bracket blocked access to my PCi and PCi-E x4 slots. I find it cools better this way too.

Crucial Adrenaline CT050M4SSC2BDA 50GB Solid State Cache for Windows 7-based PCs
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs This Product Is Just Fine! 06/15/2012

This review is from: Crucial Adrenaline CT050M4SSC2BDA 50GB Solid State Cache for Windows 7-based PCs

Pros: The "Crucial Adrenaline" does exactly as advertised and works perfectly. I see just a "few bad reviews" (3 as of my review). All I can say is... "READ SPECS/REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY SOMETHING"! It speeds up old mechanical drive access times, loads times (of Windows and Apps), etc. Takes a couple of runs to get to FULL performance. Teamed it up with an "old" 76gb WD Raptor (Sata-I / 150), now this old Raptor rocks. All my other systems have Intel SSD 520 series, which are fast, it does'nt get your old mechanical drive that fast, but it falls inbetween the speeds of an old mechanical drive and new SSD drive, which is good!

Cons: I always read personal reviews b4 making a purchase decision, as it is helpful it determining the hardwares reliability & performance. However, lately alot of people are putting in "bad reviews" and giving the product a bad reputation, when it does'nt deserve one. So many people do not follow the sys. requirements and/or follow instructions, the product does'nt work correctly then, and they turn around and blame it on the product. First, if you have "WinXP", the "Adrenaline" does'nt like XP and will more than likely cause issues.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what issues the reviewers that had bad experiences with the Adrenaline are doing wrong, maybe they just got faulty drives, maybe they are running Windows XP, maybe they are doing something else wrong. All I know is.. it works great for me and 87% of the other reviewers that bought it. 87% good reviews = good product. To many people rush into purchasing something without making sure they meet the requirements, read about what it conflicts with, or don't stop and think, maybe I just got a faulty device.

HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model KHX1866C9D3K2/8G
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: First.. most motherboard by default will "NOT" set the memory speed to 1866 speeds, even if it is the default speed of the motherboard, very few do that. The majority of AMD AM2/AM3 (and some AM3+) motherboards set the speeds by default to "DDR3 1333" speeds. My "Asus Sabertooth 990FX" did the samething, you have to go any "manually change it" in the BIOS, and the "memory standards" for my mobo are 1866/1600/1333/1066, yet it still defaulted my ddr3 1600 to 1333, I had to manually select ddr3 1600. I believe alot of Intel mobo's do the samething, depending on the memory speed.

Cons: Dunno, do not own it, just commenting on the bad reviewer.

Other Thoughts: Think before you POST people! I see alot of people giving bad reviews on hardware, and it is not the hardware that is the problem, it's the reviewer not knowing what to do or how to properly configure stuff. I am not saying that this guy did for sure, but that is what it sounds like to me!
