UPS DOA'ed

LG E2250T-PN Purple Deco 21.5" LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design w/ 2-Way Stand 250 cd/m2 DFC 5,000,000:1
LG E2250T-PN Purple Deco 21.5" LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design w/ 2-Way Stand 250 cd/m2 DFC 5,000,000:1

Pros: Very clear display. Bright colors, sharp image, excellent value, almost a steal once it's on special. LED backlight has way darker blacks than the conventionally lit LCD next to it.

Cons: No DVI cable! It's 2010! Almost every computer by now has a DVI port on it! If someone needs VGA, they should then buy that cable. To me it makes no sense to cater to the minority of users. I have a feeling LG had an overstock of VGA cables, or was able to procure a lot of them for dirt cheap to pull this move. DOA.

Overall Review: Monitor's OSD buttons and power button are not working properly. I firmly blame Newegg's 'packaging' shipping with UPS as the cause. The monitor arrived in its own box, which looks like it had been dropped on a corner from about 5 feet up. I hope the RMA'ed return doesn't get hammered this badly. I suggest brick and mortar for everything, or to upgrade to any type of FedEX. UPS has now lost my business forever due to the rough handling of everything and the declining quality of handling I have received over the last few years. Newegg also needs to realize you cannot ship something like this in just its own box through UPS. They used to be partnered pretty well with FedEX, and need to revive that partnership and ditch UPD. I never had a problem with NewEgg goods back then, including hard drives. Now, everything comes in looking pretty beat up.

Quiet!

SeaSonic 80 Plus SS-350ET Bronze 350 W ATX12V V2.31 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
SeaSonic 80 Plus SS-350ET Bronze 350 W ATX12V V2.31 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive supply. Quiet. Converts wall socket juice to computer friendly levels as it should.

Cons: Short cables, not as many Molex plugs as the power supply it is replacing. Needed to add on an extension and a Y connector to connect my two HDs in a mid-tower case.

Overall Review: For use only on older machines, or a quiet single core newer build. Don't expect this to power a Crossfire or SLI setup.

Very Nice Case!

Antec New Solution NSK2480 Black/Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case 380W Power Supply
Antec New Solution NSK2480 Black/Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case 380W Power Supply

Pros: Quiet Quiet Quiet! This case is whisper quiet if you use quiet parts to build the PC inside it. 380W supply is overkill for quiet computing needs.

Cons: Hard Drive mounting is a bit tricky if you decide to use all 4 screws and have a slim 3.5" HDD

Overall Review: Purchase a passive cooled vid card, Motherboard, and a low power cpu with a quiet fan and you can barely hear your computer.

Works as a Cable

ORION Pro Series 700-201-05 1.5 ft. 180 and 90-Degree-Angled, SATA (SERIAL ATA 150) Cable, 2-Head
ORION Pro Series 700-201-05 1.5 ft. 180 and 90-Degree-Angled, SATA (SERIAL ATA 150) Cable, 2-Head

Pros: Works just dandy in SATA 150 setups

Cons: Doesn't work for SATA 300

Overall Review: If you need SATA 300 support, look elsewhere. Good bang for the buck otherwise.

Quite the bargain

OCZ Value Series 512MB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Laptop Memory Model OCZ400512VSO
OCZ Value Series 512MB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Laptop Memory Model OCZ400512VSO

Pros: This memory comes at a great price, and has OCZ's great warranty.

Cons: none.

Overall Review: Advice for ram shopping: buy one speed faster than you need. I did and have never had any memory related problems in newer computers.
