Pros: 80+ Bronze Certified
Decent cable selection.
Cables are sheathed.
Nice black finish
Cons: Sleeve Bearing fan as opposed to ball bearing, but it hasn't been a liability yet.
Other Thoughts: One of our computers had stopped working one day. I opened the case up and to my horror it had a pile of scrap Diablotek 600W (yeah right) PSU in it that had died.
Wanting to get a decent replacement, I came across a screaming deal on this CX600. A little research showed while certainly not a high end unit, it should provide reliable power. I've always had good luck with Corsair products, and the one time a dealt with their customer service it was fantastic, so I pulled the trigger.
That was 12/2/13, and so a little over two years later its still running strong.
It's not modular, but the cables are all sheathed which is nice, and has a good selection of cables. It's 80+ Bronze certified whereas that Diablotek was only certified at being a pile of garbage. It's quiet and reliable which is all I can ask for really. If I had one minor complaint its that I wish the fan was ball bearing instead of sleeve, but it hasn't been a liability yet so I can't complain too much.
This review is from: SILVERSTONE ST60F 600W ATX 12V 2.01 / EPS 12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply
Pros: - Compact design
- Black satin finish
- Modular cables
- Reasonable performance
- Decent internals.
- Fan is a standard 120mm unit that's easy to replace (either splice wires or use a 3 pin to 2 pin adapter).
Cons: Original died 6 months after purchase.
Replacement's fan died twice.
Other Thoughts: This is a followup review from my original 2-star review back in 2008. I've had unit #2 for 6 years and its still going. In light of the second unit's long life and reliable performance (cooling fan notwithstanding), I felt it deserved a better rating.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I have an older Raidmax Sagitta case. Airflow is not the best but the case is still in good shape and I've always liked the way it looks. To compensate for the not so great airflow and I need powerful fans to keep the much newer components cool.
To that end my exhaust fan is a Scythe DFS123812H-3000 which puts out an awesome 133.60CFM. However its plain black so the only light in the case comes from the 80mm side exhaust fan mounted on the window over the CPU. The original fan still works fine, which is impressive. However only one LED works anymore and its quite dim.
Enter this Rosewill fan. It's exactly what i wanted: good airflow for its size, blue LEDs, acceptable noise level, and inexpensive. The LEDs are actually very bright, which is awesome since my case is well lit again, and that's exactly what I was going for. I also appreciate that the wires are braided. That's a really nice touch, for so little money. It's one of those pleasant cases of an item being inexpensive, not cheap.
For $3.49 (and free shipping!) how can you go wrong?
