This review is from: 2PCS Digital Walkie Talkie Two Way Radio Watch Wristwatch Spy Wrist Auto Channel Scan LCD Display Auto Squelch Built-in Microphone for Outdoor Sport Hiking with Headset Power Adapter
Pros: Very cool and works great. I purchased these for my sons, both under the age of 10. They love these things. I love these things. They work wonderfully, too. We spread out more than a city block apart and used them flawlessly. Great signal & reception. Ear bud kit that comes with the walkie talkies works great, too. Very easy to use and set up out of the box. Battery life is also surprisingly long.
Cons: None that we have discovered.
Other Thoughts: Although I purchased these as "toys," they are not toy quality. These are the real deal. We intend to take them camping with us, as they would be perfect compliments to nature hikes.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Samsung 64" Class (64.01" Diag.) 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV PN64D7000FFXZA
Pros: This 64" replaced my Panny 50" that was about 7 years old. Very wonderful and dynamic picture, though I was hoping to be more overwhelmed by the picture quality. CNET gave this set a very high review, calling it the TV of the year for 2011, so I figured I was in for a real treat. Its picture is great, no question. The factory settings were a little dark in my opinion, but it was pretty simple to fix. Nice big screen that doesn't seem nearly as big as it is, largely because it is so thin and has a very thin border/edge around the actual screen. Wathced first 3D movie last night on it, and it was amazing. Breathtaking picture. Sharp, bright, clear and very defined dimensions to vidoe. My old Panny definitely couldn't do that...
Cons: I don't really care for the business of the "SMART HUB" on this TV. We haven't tried ordering movies yet through this application, though we can easily access our Netflix account without the need for a separate device (Roku, Wii, etc. to access Netflix).READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: YAMAHA RX-A800 7.2-Channel AVENTAGE Series A/V Receiver
Pros: Very nice unit for the price. Thank you Newegg! This replaced a HK receiver that was about 7 years old but, in spite of lacking HDMI, was still a monster and generated great sound. At least that's what I thought. I plugged this Yamaha in and utilized the YPAO mic to balance the speakers in an oddly shaped rectangular room with unbalanced speaker placement. After about 20 minutes of sound tests, the receiver set the speakers to the perfect levels automatically. Although this Yamaha receiver utilizes the same JBL speakers as the HK receiver, the sound is so different and improved that everyone thought I replaced all of my speakers. The sound being created by my system makes me conlcude that I must have not had my HK properly configured (and I'm guessing I never would have), but this Yamaha out of the box and balanced using the enclosed mic did it in 20 minutes. I had been tinkering with the HK system on and off over the last 7 years, and the sound never came close to this Yamaha.
Cons: There are none that I have discovered. The unit is black and not my preference. However, given how it performs, this receiver could look like a concrete block and I wouldn't mind. I am amazed at how easily it turned my average HT sound into a spectacular HT audio experience. Family watched Rio in 3D. Picture (Panny 3D BR player and 64" Samsung plasma) and sound were so impressive we got "lost" in the movie and felt like we were at a movie theatre. I credit the sound for making the picture that much more enjoyable. I credit the Yamaha for the sound!
Other Thoughts: Buy one and enjoy it!READ FULL REVIEW
