Pros: a good entry pc for the buck
Cons: none for the price
Overall Review: well you cant go wrong with this pc 1st is an am2 socket and it does supports ddr2 and sata with a pcie 16 slot . the only thing i added right away was an extra fan in the back for cooling .
Pros: cheap
Cons: range is lacking
Overall Review: its wifi and thats all i needed but i had to add an extra wifi point the the network to reach out far enough
great budget upgrade
Pros: USB 3.0 (both rear and onboard) gigabit ethernet a full-fledged if somewhat lengthy UEFI bios (with overclocking options) an all in one easy upgrade solution to a mini itx computer extra system fan header onboard is a plus
Cons: well, maybe one or two cons but there mostly gripes about the motherboard. first, i had to undo the connector for the power switch and led ( hard drive and power) because the pin arrangement was unique to this board. second, well this should be expected (AMD APU's run hot by normal standards) a better fan for the CPU and chipset, they have decent heatsinks on them but only one small fan. But with a standard 4 pin CPU fan header, you could update this with a better fan.
Overall Review: Newegg did make one mistake on the specs on this product it has 240 pin ddr3 ram, not 204 pin ( which we all know is laptop memory). This made a great upgrade for my daughters old e2100 Acer computer. The difference was night and day!
WYSIWYG
Pros: Cheap it's a quad core 3.4 with usb3.0 and some expansion .read below the full review..
Cons: this is where i give newegg 1 less egg. they should be clear and state : 1. this does not come with an OS at all....... 2. there is no wifi or bluetooth (but the mini pci express slot it there) a better explanation would and should be made of anything they sell
Overall Review: OK i bought this pc for my son as a good starting platform to build on.I wasn't looking for something that was a good deal that can be upgraded that's all.i just wish newegg should explain their products better (that is why i deducted one egg). ok here are the full spec by an owner. basically it is an HP Pavilion p7-1297c Desktop PC minus the wifi card and operating system and only 4 gigs of memory and a 1 TB drive. full specs: amd a10-5700 w/ HD7660D 1 PCI express 16 2.0 3 pic express 1 slots 1 mini pci express (for wifi /BT only) 4 DDR3 dimm slots up to 32 gigs of mem max take only ddr3-1333 or 1600 or 1866 ( mine came with 4 gigs of ddr3-1600) dvd burner 6 sata 3.0 300 watt power supply 2 usb 3.0 front 4 usb 2.0 and 2 usb 3.0 on back ok all and all a good pc for the money all you need is an OS and your good to go for 200 bucks.i installed LINUX on it and it works fine for him for now. i would say if you want a good cheap PC platform to learn or get for someone who wants to have a PC but want to learn to upgrade and you don't want to break the bank this is a good start. i just wish newegg would post that is has no OS. be honest. thats all.
you win some you loose some
Pros: its a slim form factor and it comes with a good bundle of software
Cons: none
Overall Review: well i have to give it one less egg for the description but i don't think its newegg fault . there isnt a recommended power supply ratting on either newegg or msi web site and mine failed and i found out why because of my power supply wasn't high enough for it ( its a 250 watt and not 80 plus rated) . so i really cant blame newegg for that.
win some and you loose some
Pros: great mid range pc can surf web and play games that aren't too hard video wise....packaging was fine and shipment was on time without much fuss...i know they are refurbished but they (why they i bought 3 of them for my kids and wife) looked new and well wrapped ...and now read on for the mess..lol
Cons: the only con is kinda windows 8 and the update to 8.1 and that's not neweggs fault
Overall Review: never and i mean never unless you like punishing yourself and have alot of coffee set-up 3 pc update windows 8 to 8.1 and configure at the same time....what a nightmare..lol. actually it wasn't too bad... first off 1 of the pc (and this where i should have stopped)looked a little different from the other 2 (no stickers) they all booted up fine. windows 8 setup is a nightmare if you have a weak or slow internet connection...but that should be expected 24 hours to update and setup...but the one that looked different windows wouldn't activate (it told me this license limit was reached and calling Microsoft was a waste of time i had to buy a new cd key) and then the sound chip on the motherboard died and on the 35 day so did the motherboard....i know i should have returned it sooner but this was my fault.....but that one computer seemed to slip by the refurbishing dept not finished.....but i guess 2 out of 3 aint bad....(nice song ref..lol)..the lesson here is to be picky and really look them over first and dont be like me and not return them right away.....this doesn't reflect on newegg at all i still do recommend them.....
